Re: MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-12-24-2009 16-14h - Revision:24553.rar

Happy New Year to all..

Some problems with this SVN:
I can't switch channels, first black screen appears and than last picture from last channel, I have to press Stop button and then change channel via guide.
For HDTV works PDVD9 only (SAF), CoreAVC, MPC, ffdshow don't work.

I also get black screens every now and then. Looks like it happens when there is something wrong with a channel (no signal/ no timeshift possible). When I wait long enough I can press OK on the remote again and can choose another channel.

I allso hav stil diseq issues, see:

Same problem as the above two only I'll add that it takes an eternity for the channel change to actually happen if it ever happens. Then when the channel does change, I see the last frame of the previous channel for a random amount of time before the new channel starts. Stopping timeshifting and the selecting the channel immediately starts the new channel without delay.

My suggestion is to stop timeshifting on a channel change. It doesn't make sense to have a time shift buffer from a previous channel when watching a new channel.

Logs are attached.

    Hi all,

I'm suffering from intermittent channel freezes.

Can be watching live TV fine, then all of a sudden the picture/audio will just freeze.

    Changing channel solves it.

It happened around 23:08 (please see the logs)

    W7x64
    PDVD Codec
    ATI 9.8

    Thanks,

    J.

For everyone having channel change problems.. While in your guide, press stop before you select the channel and see if that helps you. It does on my end!

Did you get anywhere on your network problem? I have the same issue but can't make any progress resolving it. My server is Vista 32 on 192.168.2.3/255.255.0.0, my client is Vista 64 on 192.168.3.3/255.255.0.0. All has been well but tonight I upgraded to the latest snapshot (24553). All works well on the server and I can watch TV, but my client keeps asking me to specify an IP address for the server. In explorer I can navigate to the server shares from the client. I had been running the link on port 1554 however I can not find anywhere in the client to put a port number (other than on the IP address 192.168.2.3:1554, but this doesn't work), so I changed the port back to the default 554 on the server, but even after rebooting both ends, I still can not get the client to talk to the server. Any help or pointers would be appreciated.

You do not need to specify the port on the client, it is detected automatically. Regarding your connectivity issue, please check your firewall rules (both server and client).

    Hi MP community,

I have tested this SVN and have found an issue if I run it with with Windows 7. With Vista it works fone.

If the monitor is turned off before the system does suspend (sleep) then the Mediaportal wakes up with wrong resolution
and is not in fullscreen mode any more.

in the previous and this SVN i am not able to use a UNC path \\server\recordings for my tvserver recordings. When I use a local path, recording works like a charm.

    in tswriter logfile it shows: Recorder:unable to create file:'\\Server\Recorded TV\SBS 6 Sport_ PDC World Championship Darts - SBS 6 - 2010-01-01.ts' 5

i also tried to modify the recordings-location to recordedtv (without the space), and got the same issue.
Is this a bug, or am i missing something?

Hello, thanks for this SVN build. I like the new icons!:)

I found a big problem with my setup after installing this one. Its a single seat and it crashes every time when I stop a *.ts file.
(live TV or already recorded ones)

But the workaround is simple. I found a message in this thread saying:
MediaPortal Config -> TV Client -> use host name not IP adress
MediaPortal TV Server Config -> TV Servers use IP adress
    That fixed the issue!
Every former release worked with 127.0.0.1 as hostname.

I thought lets write it down again, maybe it will help an other member.

Greatings, and the best wishes for every one.
