Hi all MP community,

I am just starting with MP and trying to have it working with my TV Card.

I installed MP 1.0 RC1 with TV-Server option, and as it is sayed :
"Since 1.0 RC1 the installation is done by the DeployTool"
so when launching : "setuptv.exe" and trying to configure and test SQL Server 2005 I have a ... stupid
problem ... It ask me user id ans there is : sa. But for password : NO IDEA and when I try test all this 2 lines
are red.

what is the password as "Since 1.0 RC1 the installation is done by the DeployTool" nothing was asked to me.

Thanks for your help.

Ok now I start MP go to "My TV" and ... MP can't set up the connection and ask's for a IP address or the server name? I'm a bit confused now and a absolute noob according to SQL-Server and those spucky things...:D

    Thanks for answers...

The IP address is the LAN IP address of your machine.
    1) Go to your start menu -> Run.
    2) Type "cmd" and press enter.
    3) An old skool command prompt opens. Type "ipconfig" and press enter.
    4) You should see an "IPv4 address" or something to that effect. For me it is "192.168.0.21" for example. (After it is listed a "Subnet Mask" and then a "Default Gateway"). Yours would be similar.

Note. you would only have an IP assigned if your computer is connected to a network or a broadband modem/router etc.

SQL Server Install Failing to set sa Account up

    Hi all,

My installation on MS MCE is failing when it attempts to install the SQL Server 2005 stuff.

It is saying (and I loosely quote): "The sa password must meet SQL Server password policy requirements. For strong password guidelines sess Authentication Mode in SQL Server Books online".

    Thanks Microsoft.

Anyone have any ideas what I need to do in admin mode to change my password policy?

    I don't do Windowz. 'Sometimes' I wish I did.

Did you install using a admin account or a user account, the chances are, that is why it may be failing to configure correctly.
