I'm trying to install Mediaportal2 and configure a TV card - Hauppauge WinTV-SoloHD.

I've installed Mediaportal 2.
I've installed the tuner and WinTV 10 that it comes with. The tuner works fine.
When I try to run the MediaPortal 2 TV Configuration it errors with 0x80004005 - Failed to startup tvserviceSystem.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): An attempt was made to acess a socket in a way forbidden by its access permission 192.168.1.100:31456.

I've uninstalled Mediaportal 2, run CCCleaner and its registry checker, and reinstalled - still the same problem.

Any suggestions appreciated please.
Error message and logs attached.

Thanks
Mike

Perhaps try uninstalling WinTV. I'm still trying to sort out MP2 myself, but I seem to recall having issues when WinTV was installed.

When you uninstall Win TV it will uninstall the driver for your card but you can download the driver alone from the Hauppauge support web page.

Well it's not WinTV causing the issue.
I've uninstalled Win TV and MediaPortal2, run CC cleaner & reg checker, rebooted and reinstalled Mediaportal2, reinstalled the driver and rebooted again.
I still get the same error when I run the MediaPortal 2 TV Configuration - updated logs attached.

I checked you log files and can't see any obvious errors. Please first enable debug logging (see here) and then restart MP2-Server, try TV Configuration and then collect new log files.

Ah, and one hint: from your Windows event log it looks like you have an antivirus solutions installed (NortonSecurity). This can lead to problems, like firewall part is blocking access. I highly recommend to stop all of such software before trying again.

    Hi morpheus_xx

Thanks for getting back to me.

    This time I:
    • Stopped & restarted MP2-Server service
    • Enabled verbose logging
    • Disabled Norton
    • Ran MediaPortal 2 TV Configuration
But I got the same error.
Error message & log files attached.

With Norton re-enabled it still fails. I checked the security log and there's nothing reported.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Still nothing obvious :(

I see you have multiple network connections?

Could you try to disable the first one for testing?

Could you let me know where to do that please?
I can't see anything obvious for a network controller in device manager or task manager.
    Thanks
