Error: Configuration not done!

Hello,

I'm getting the same error every time I try to use mencoder to copy my disc.

Error
Configuration not done!
Start MP configuration and configure

Clearly I've tried to configure MediaSlayer by right clicking on the MediaSlayer icon in the plug-ins panel. I've set it to use C:\Program Files\MPlayer-rtm-svn-28311\mencoder.exe which is the one I was directed to by the first post. I've also tried to use the athlon compiled version.

I have DVD43 installed as well.

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling MediaSlayer twice with versions 1.1d and 1.1e_t1.

How do I get my config. file to stick, and why isn't mediaslayer seeing it? Note that I have the config file set to auto matically download actors, and it does that fine when it scans the disc, it just won't go ahead with the copying.

Hmm... almost empty logs. Info flag is not the best option for debugging. Can you open MediaPortal.xml and search mediaslayer section - there should be all settings stored.

I'm not sure how to set any other 'flags', basically I just made use of the Debug option from the start menu item for MediaPortal

I did a serach for the MediaPortal.xml and came across two entries. One is in the root of the mediaportal directory, and the other is in a user directory for application data.

    File A
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal
This file has the following setting for mediaslayer

    Code:

    -

2

C:\Program Files\DVDFab 5\DVDFab.exe

C:\Documents and Settings\media\My Documents\My Videos

C:\Documents and Settings\media\My Documents\My Music

5

1

C:\Program Files\MPlayer-rtm-svn-28311\mencoder.exe

en

en

1200

D:\

#ARTIST - #ALBUM\#NBR - #TRACK

Media Slayer

yes

yes

no

yes

yes

no

no

    -

Blue3wide

English (United States)

      </profile>

    File B
    C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal
This file is pretty much empty and only contains the following...

    Code:

    - <profile>
    -

1

      </profile>

Sorry, I'm not sure how to make scrollable code boxes on this forum.

I've attached the xml file as zip if you need to look at them. :D

That is the correct place and setting for debug flag. And on user directory is the setting file.

But now comes the ??? part. If you check your first posted log file all log entries are with info flag only - nothing from debug. And if this plugin is not able to read the config file according to plugin error message something is not right in your setup. Is everything else working as expected?

Oops: put debug on from MP configuration -> general settings -> log verbosity: debug

    Ah ha! Sneaky little setting.

I tried a rip using the built-in iso option and it worked flawlessly (with DVD43 as css decrypt). But still no luck with mencoder.

Manfred thank you for all your work.

However i have a small request yet most needed: All my movies are in folders so its [moviename]/[moviename].[ext] so i would ofcause love to have them being saved that way, so a naming format way like with cds :D

Back to my problem with don't saving files by using mencoder.

I set "Log Verbosity" from "Information" to "Debug" in MP Configuration and tested it again. Here are my logfiles.
I've already detected some problems with d3derr in error.log, so I'll even create a screenshot of "dxdiag".

#1. You have a lot of plugins activated and some of them are causing several exceptions! Try to disable those ones. Or better yet all and try MS only.

#2. Used skin is not up to date what comes to MediaSlayer. Use B3(W) to be sure that skin is ok.

#3. Do you have online decrypter installed. Mencoder does not work well/at all if trying to encode decrypted disk.

#4. A lot of errors all over the logs - is all ok in your setup?

    Hi Manfred!
First of all thanks for your quickly answer!
Jap, Aeon Wide is outdated, but I also tried it with Blue3wide (for creating logfiles I forgot to change back to B3W, sry)
For testing I tried with Online Decryper once time, but not jet.
Disabling other Plugins could be a solution. I'll try it.... ;)

    Thanks!

    Problem one is solved :D

From the first problem, regarding "config not done"; I solved this by simply renaming the folder that mencoder was in to something shorter, as opposed to the long folder name that I originally got when unpacking the win32 binary file from sourceforge.

However, now there is a fresh issue :(

Using the above mentioned mencoder, I attempt to rip a DVD (still using DVD43 as the css decoder). Mediaslayer download the IMDB info, and starts the first pass, but doesn't get past 0%. I've let it sit for quite a while, and nothing happens. When I exit out of mediaportal mencoder starts working! I've watched in the task manager, and mediaportal will sit at 3% (effectively doing nothing), and mencoder will be at 0%. As soon as I shut-down mediaportal mencoder jumps to 50% and starts copying away (I can hear my DVD drive spin-up).

So, why isn't mediaportal passing the commands to mencoder until I quit?
