Hi jonobk, Manfred.

I've the same problem than jonobk.

In the first time, I thought it was my mencoder that has problem (because when I try to run it directly on dos prompt I had strange percentage like 98745148%).
And yes, when memcoder is started by MediaSalyers, after with minutes nothing happens.
When you kill media portal, then the process strop his freezing and continue to work.
When memcoder will have finished, the first pass will be done but not usefull...

Manfred, isn t it possible that the Process is lost by MediaSlayers or maybe that the process is waiting an input. And killing the .exe that has started mencoder.exe will affect the process because there is no more reading on the i/o ?

Really I don't know

I was expecting a working patch from you kalif :D

Can't really understand why it is behaving like that.

Manfred, yes I know but I have a lot of things for the moment.

And basically my problem is the following ; if I can't produce a valid output using a simple batch dos prompt with mencoder, then I can't go further and see it in MediaSlayers :(

    :sorry:

But be sure that I want MediaSlayers to be in my next HTPC ; and for this I will do what is needed, also try to find the prob during hours if needed :D

Normally I will have freeTime next week and will post result

But there is Flac support already for lossless encoding. Why not use that?

Here is adjusted thread priority & background settings in DVD ripping part so can you try how this works with mencoder.

    questions and requests. mostly requests.

    1. Add a button to do nothing but rip and not add to the database. This would be better for users of My Movies plugin.
    2. use the code from My Movies to generate the Disc ID and do a lookup of the disc based on that ID. It will narrow down the number of returned movies GREATLY when looking up the movie info.
    3. have the .iso files (or whatever format) stored in individual folders and not just all in one folder. Again, better for users that use My Movies.
    For example:
    c:\movies\men in black\men in black.iso
    c:\movies\cars\cars.iso
    c:\movies\matrix\matrix.iso

I would think 1 and 3 could be farily quick to implement (haven't seen your code, though). And would greatly enhance the movie experience for My Movies users almost instantly.

number 2 I think would take a while to do. But would be cool if possible. No more looking at just the name of the disc to pull what to name the .iso file and directory it is in. More accurate info could be gathered upfront before the disc has even started to be ripped.

I guess I really didn't have any questions. Well, I do. Can I get this by tomorrow???? LOL Just kidding.

1st of thank you for an awesome plugin......

    i have 2 problems though

1: CD ripping works great no problems at all but when i attempt to rip a DVD it just sits on analyzing disk.
if i uses DVDfab in windows it rips the movie to iso with no issues at all but just stalls in MP.
2: i would like to use Xface 1.7 but when ever i go into mediaslayer its like working with molasses, a simple up or down takes minutes.

    thanks again

    Straight copy?

Firstly, thanks for producing such a high quality plugin. It truly does rock.

One question i have though, is whether it's possible to simply rip DVD's straight to hdd? I run several different media centers, and my dvd collection resides in a shared locaiton in .IFO and .VOB format. So

    \DVD's\MovieName\Video_TS\*

Can mediaslayer support a simple copy of the DVD to HDD (assuming inline decryptor like AnyDVD running) ?

    Thanks!

ToXIc, I have the same issue u mark as number 1. When I try to make an ISO using "internal" option, its done and works perfectly. But, with mencoder it take forever to analyze the disc. Checking the process table, I notice that mencoder is not using the cpu. Maybe waiting for something?

Thanks Manfred, this is an awesome plugin.
