I have been impressed with how stable the MP/TVServer is. I've read through the forums and posted on a couple of issues I'm having, but one in particular I have yet to see. For background, I'm new to MP, so the client interface may be part of the problem. Whenever I click on a menu item or switch between menus it's taking far longer than I would expect. I see the TvService shoot up in CPU usage sometimes, perhaps implying a database pause.
I am using MySQL 5 in a single server/client setup. I haven't tested to see if the response is snappier on another box yet because this will be my preferred setup for at least a few months. Is it just me or does it normally take 20-30 seconds sometimes when navigating between menus or when paging through data? The TV Guide works fairly smoothly, but it's about the only part. I didn't play much with the standalone MP version for comparison, but maybe I should.
I'm also hoping someone can point me to an answer: When I want to reprioritize a recording schedule, why am I not given the up/down arrows after selecting the show?
TIA, so far so good - I just need to make the end user experience a good one for the wife and kid.
