[not reproducible] MePo crash after update - Failed to locate assembly 'Bass.net, Version=2.4.10.0 (1 Viewer)

Hi guys,

I have just updated from 1.3 to 1.4 pre and now MePo and MePo config crash when I try to start them.
The only log that gets written into when I start the configuration is the Configuration.log

I found a solution/reason.

I made a fresh install on another computer and compared the bass*dll's in the MediaPortal installation folder. I saw that the "Bass.Net.dll" was 628KB on the fresh install but only 576KB on my updated installation. So I copied all bass*dll's from the PC with the fresh install to the updated PC and now it starts without problems.
It seems the installer did not update those dll's or there was some kind of other issue.

Yes, I encountered the exact same error upgrading from 1.3 to 1.4RC on windows 8.

Replacing those bass*.dll files worked for me too!

Can you put in back bad dll and retry using separate installer ? (Note for Team, i'm pretty sure there is a wiki page to explain how to do it lol)

Go to %temp%\MediaPortal Installation\deploy (after start full installer and close it)
Install separate installer : package-mediaportal.exe and package-tvengine.exe (if you use TV)

The update process should be ok and try again

I haven't found the Wiki entry but this worked for me. At least now I can be sure that everything was updated in case something else was missing too.

In the afternoon I was worried I couln't watch the ESC 2013 finals today hehe

Any log I could help with? Is there an installaton log?

BAss.Net should get replaced correctly.
