Thanks. i have not undated him for ages i guess because I'm waiting to see what happens with MP2. I don't use MP anymore and simply haven't the time to keep updating the skin.

Hi Glenn!

Asked a question on the forum about re-branding of MP got a reply that something is going on and some small hints that Mepo is promoted to a new and glamorous job in the MP management team.

If this is true, and I soooo hope it is, he will do a great job, I'm sure.

I hope this re-branding will cover:

• The Website
• Config
• Startup splash
• and default skin

It's about time that MP looks like product!

I can't say much about the dev. of Mediaportal as I'm too busy to get involved anymore.. And to that end, I have begun a little process of my own...

I will hopefully have a MePo for you all toplay with in the not too distant future.

Opensource (or free) is the only way to allow this program to continue!

Chris - why not look at trueSpace (the company was Caligari) - they now have released their 3-D product (trueSpace version 7.6 I think) as free!

you should seriously reconsider that statement mzemina......
because mp development would be virtually impossible without Visual Studio (full not that free/express version) ​

i do not like truespace, never did.
lightwave and modo are my primary 3d applications (using lightwave since 4.0).
secondary is max because of its mod-tools support for PC games and conversion jobs i have to do.

and btw. 3rd screenshot of glenn's post shows Blender, which is an OpenSource 3d animation application. ​

OK infinityloop and any others - please replace above statement (in blue) with this statement: GPL is the only way for this program to continue.

I believe that releasing the sourcecode (including graphic elements) is appreciated by many people.

the team realy appreciates that.
in the past we had to recreate many gfx elements of the default skins, because the original creator vanished and noone had the source psd files of i.e. Blue2.

Be aware that the original is rendered in Max using Vray which is a global illumination renderer. You would need to use yaffray in Blender or mental-ray in Maya to achieve similar results. The maps for his skin and various eyes are included.
