    Hi,

I too have this problem and would like to know the solution. So, what is the minimum system requirement in terms of CPU, Video Card/GPU & RAM? Right now for me aMPDroid is a glorified remote control. Streaming just does not work for more than 10 seconds.

Yes. I am using mxplayer and dice. I have the same problem with both. I am afraid my system specs are a little too dated (Year 2007). My HTPC specs are as follows:

    OS: Windows 7 32 bit
    Windows Experience Index 3.3
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ 2.00 GHz
    RAM: DDR2 2.00 GB (1.75 GB Usable) - due on-board graphics
    Motherboard: AMD 690G Chipset - Asus M2A-VM
Graphics: On Board ATI Radeon X1250

In case the problem is the HTPC specs would something like this work OK for streaming up to 2 devices?

    Motherboard: Jetway HA06
Processor: AMD Quad Core X4 920
Would adding a Radeon HD 6670 make any difference? If so, how?

depends on what you are trying to stream. your current config should be able to stream a normal dvd mpeg file. Streaming should not stop. Are there any errors in the mpextended log?

If you have this cpu in store just try it. But don't buy this outdated Phenom with a TDP of 125 watt. Would buy a AMD FX 8120 - has the same TDP but theoretically 8 cores +turbo mode. This should be enough for more than one stream of HD conent in best quality. Or watch out for an Intel i7.
    Graphics makes nearly no difference...

I can get these outdated MB & CPU at a cheap rate from a sale thread on an Indian tech forum. So, I really should not worry about graphics. Any IGP should be good enough, right? It is the CPU power that matters.

Is there a thumb rule for CPU power for the following.

Streaming Live HD using Colossus Capture Card. --> What should be the ideal bitrate set on the capture card? Currently it is at 50% quality.
HD Video Content (recorded or movie)
    SD Video Content

Bruin14: Please find attached the MPExtended Logs.

Can't say anything to your capture card. Sorry.
But the "new" Phenom CPU... Buy cheap, pay dearly ;-)
And please do your testing in really good wlan and not over 3G/HSDPA.

Did the testing on WLAN as well. Similar results except that RTSP stream is working but it is still has some stuttering issues.

FYI.... I am running a i3-2100 on my server with onboard video. My friends and I did a nice stress test. That CPU is handling 4 streams without missing a beat. The 5th stream worked as well, but took a LONG time to start. The 6th stream in the test never happened.

Hope this info helps in some way.

Thanks a lot. I guess AMD A8-3870 should be good enough then.
