Hi, I havent used the TV on my PC for sometime but I have noticed channels missing that used to be there? I have checked which my transmitter should be (Waltham or Nottingham) and I have redone scans of all 4 tuners but the channels just say no signal.

    The channels:

    4Music
    NMETv
    Bliss
    Chart Show TV
    Flava
    Scuzz
    The Vault
    Dave
    Dave Ja Vu
    Channel 4 HD

They appear to have some freeview in there but mostly freesat channels. All other channels appear ok.

I'm a bit lost as to what to try now? Any help would be much appreciated..

    Thanks!

There has been a recent change to the channel frequencies on FreeSat (new satellite launched the other day so freesat channels are being moved across to new satellite to make room on the sky satellite).

You will need to click on "Update Transponder List" and then do a re-scan. If you don't update the transponder list it won't work as the current transponder list data doesn't include the new frequencies so it won't scan for the moved channels.

From your list, the only DVB-T channels are Dave and Dave Ja Vu, which aren't working for me either (Sandy Heath). The transponder tuning has changed, but no-one has updated the details online. Try doing a scan for All Frequencies and that may pick it up (it should be on 722 for nottingham).

Hi, thanks for the advice. I sucessfully updated / scanned all areas and it found the channels that had moved and got my 4music back :)

Still no Dave though. Who updates the list? Do you know how long it ussually takes, is it just a case of try again each week?

    Thanks again!

PD is right, you will get Dave from your DVB-T card (it is encrypted on DVB-S).

Updates to DVB-T tuning files are only done when a new version of MediaPortal is released, or by manually inserting a new .xml into the DVB-T tuning parameters directory (c:\applications and settings\all users\Team MediaPortal\TV Server\Tuning Details\DVB-T - or equivilant directory for win7/vista (c:\program data\....)). Note, that this directory is hidden, so you will need to set your PC to show hidden files.

The new xml (if there is one available for your transmitter) can be found here: Submit: EPG-Grabbers and tuningdetails - MediaPortal Forum

Alternatively, as I said above, you can choose to not select a transmitter and it should scan all channels.

Finally, if you know what transmitter you are using, you can use this website to identify the broadcast frequency for Dave here: Freeview on Nottingham TV transmitter | ukfree.tv - independent free digital TV advice (showing as 722000 hz for Nottingham) and do an advance tune of that frequency only as discussed here: DVB-T Advanced Tuning - MediaPortal Wiki

Oh, and I think Dave may be the only channel available most of the time, since from what I can tell, Dave Ja Vu is only transmitting between 02:00 hrs and 04:00 hrs or something silly like that.

I have deleted it from my listing as it is a waste of time.

Turns out the search all regions did pick up Dave DVB-T after all. Added it back in and all is well with my TV world :p Thanks again for all the help.
