Missing Freesat UK Channels (2 Viewers)

For some reason I seem to be missing some Freesat chanels, namely BBC3, BBC4, Channel 5+1, 5USA & 5*. I´ve tried updating the satellite list and rescanning the channels but they still don´t appear.

Any idea why, and what can be done to get them?

BBC3 and BBC4 will only show up if you do a scan when they are broadcasting (after 19:00hrs).

The channel 5 group have recently moved to Astra N. Do you have these channels showing in the list but encrypted? If so, try editing the channels and changing them to Free to Air to see if then then work.

I also have these channels missing. I am not sure what possessed me to do it, but I told TV Server to delete all encrypted channels..

I found the information on kingofsat.net but can't work out what information I need from the site to populate in the Add Channel dialogue.

Is someone able to show me what I would enter into the Add Channel dialogue, based on the information for 5 USA here (Astra 1N (28.2°E) - All transmissions - frequencies - KingOfSat)

Obviously, from that, I can work out the rest that I need.

Might be faster to do a manual scan of those three transponders.

T1

Frequency = 10964000
Symbol rate = 22000
Polarisation = horizontal
Modulation = not set
Inner FEC rate = 5/6
Pilot = not set
Roll off = not set

T2

Frequency = 11053000
Symbol rate = 22000
Polarisation = horizontal
Modulation = not set
Inner FEC rate = 5/6
Pilot = not set
Roll off = not set

T3

Frequency = 11127000
Symbol rate = 22000
Polarisation = horizontal
Modulation = 8 PSK
Inner FEC rate = 2/3
Pilot = On
Roll off = 0.35

If you really want to add channels manually:

Frequency: the first number after "Astra 1N" multiplied by 1000
Polarisation: the next letter is the code; H = horizontal, V = vertical, L = circular left, R = circular right
Modulation: if the next part says "DVB-S" then use "not set", otherwise for "DVB-S2" use "QPSK" or "8 PSK" as specified
Symbol rate: enter the next number as specified
Inner FEC rate: select the fraction as specified
Roll-off and Pilot: not so sure about these as King Of Sat doesn't seem to list them - definitely use "not set" for both for "DVB-S" channels; I would use "0.35" and "On" for DVB-S2 channels
Network ID: the "NID" value
Transport ID: the "TID" value
Service ID: the number in blue against each channel after the encryption type column, column labelled "SID"
PMT PID: column labelled "PMT" (skip 2 after the "SID" column)
Provider: doesn't matter - enter whatever you like
Free to air: tick if "encryption" is clear, otherwise untick

I would say not. The only thing that King of Sat doesn't list are the pilot and roll-off settings. Most newer DVB-S2 tuners are able to determine those parameters automatically. Only older tuners like the Hauppauge Nova HD S2 and HVR-4000 require them to be set explicitly. We have an arrangement with fastsatfinder to get the extra details, but for some reason they're not providing those details publicly. You could always check the details in the MP transponder files:

C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\TuningParameters\dvbs\

That's exactly what I had to do as well. Is this just a teething problem with these new channels, or will they need editing every time I do a rescan? (not that I'll probably ever watch any of them anyway!)
