However if I go into My Movies in the Streamed MP skin part it dosnt see it. I have about 10 movies that this is happening too. Media portal also plays the movies fine.

It probably did not automatically match, you need to enter Configuration and approve it.

ltfearme is right, but you need a bit more info I think :)

My Video's is MP's own way of dealing with files, and under normal view, works the same as explorer, so all files you point it too are shown.

When you install StreamedMP, it installs the MovingPictures and TVSeries plugins, these need to be setup under the MP config\plugins, just select the MovingPictures plugin and you should see a list of unapproved\not recognised movie files, select the correct movie and use the green tick to accept as correct, do this for every file that requires it, close the plugin and config and all your movies should now show.

For nore information regarding MovingPictures see here moving-pictures - Project Hosting on Google Code
For My Video's and every other builtin feature of MP, please look in the maual section at the top of this forum.

I am getting this issue also

I have 2 films I know of that it just won't see they do not appear in the import list at all.

I have all 3 Lord Of The Rings films all named as so

Lord Of The Rings - The fellowship of the ring

Lord Of The Rings - The two towers << this one is picked up and works fine

Lord Of The Rings - The Return Of The King

I have moved the 2 it will not find and added that individual folder but still nothing ???

    Any help much appreciated.

    PS. Both films play fine.

I am getting this issue also

If your car window is broken, do you then leave your car at home, take the bus, go to a car mechanic and tell them "my car is broken, please fix it". Or do you actually bring in your car, and explain that the window is the part that is broken?

Now consider the log files being your car. Asking for help on a problem with MovingPictures without providing the log files can therefore be a struggle, unless it happens to be a known problem.

So I can give you a suggestions to look for. MovingPictures has support for "Some Movie Title - Part 1.avi" and "Some Movie Title - Part 2.avi" to turn them into "Some Movie Title" and merge the 2 parts. You can verify this by going to the "Movie Managers" tab, find the movie in question that did get added and click on the "Movie Details" text with the little arrow, right under the large movie title, as per:

    FAQ.MovingPictures.3a_Bad.Sorting.Example.png

Then change it to File information, and you should see all the files that got linked together. To unlink, sent the movie back to the importer and use the little green arrow to unmerge any auto-merged movie.

More then likely your filenaming is too close to differentiate, which a year title would solve. For example "Spider-Man 1.avi" with "Spider-Man 2.avi" will most likely get linked together as a single movie, but "Spider-Man 1 (2001).avi" and "Spider-Man 2 (2004).avi" will be added as seperate movies.

And next time, please log files, log files, log files.

Have rebooted machine since and they have now loaded ok. Although I have been running moving pictures for several weeks and it has never picked them up until now although today I have re-named them and moved them around several times.

Even played both files today whilst trying to get them picked up.

This looks like an OS issue to me Simon169. To prevent applications from stepping on each other's toes, when an application is writing to a file it is "locked". This does not actually prevent other applications from doing anything, it is up to the application to do what it wants with this information. Moving Pictures though will not import movies if they are locked because we do not want to import only one file of a two part movie while you are copying files to the folder.

It looks like in your situation, the file was for some reason permanently locked by your operating system. Because of this Moving Pictures wouldn't touch it, it assumed it was part of a file transfer or maybe a half complete DVD rip.
