Hi there,

first of all im very pleased that so many people like my work. So for the last days i had not the time to do anything in skinning. So my firt look on v1.4.6 was yesterday evening :)

Firt i want to say it look pretty well, but there seem to be sliding problems for the main menu buttons. If you select for example the next menu to the right the "old one" slides from an incorrect starting position thats isnt arranged exactly in the middle of the screen (sorry for my bad egnlish). If you have a look to the 7SENSES MOD you will see the correct sliding it has to be.

The next bigger step is to do the Submenus in an comfortable way. In my mod i was trying to put the mainmenu (horizontal menu) into cateories. For example all features that could be handled by watching the tv-screen shold be in there. Thats anything that deals with the screen, f.e. "watch TV", "moving pictures", "series", "trailers", "recordet TV" and so on. The same should be done with the other categories. The Musik-Menu should handle "Music", "radio", "LastFM", ...

So we have to get a Menu structure. I dont know if ihts possible to make a Menu configuration through the Editor, but I think this would be the most comfortable way for the user. Is there a list of all features of MP to devellop such a menu structure?

So on, we have to get a nice iconset with the right look and feel to fit the Skin as nicely as possible. Im not that good into graphical working. So is it possible to make a little contest for designing icons here at the forum, if we have worked out a final menu structure? If its possible we can also make different iconsets, changable by the editor. But i dont know if such a feature is realisable.

Ok, that are my first opinions for the first time. I'll see if i can manage a pre version of a possible menu-structure.

Hi there,

I did a fast Menuband-Overview i suggested the 7SENSES MOD to work. I thought this could be a starting point for the discussion for the final Menu-Structure.

Menu-Overview.jpg

It's basically the MOD's structure at 0.1.3 beta status.

Hi Dachkennel,

The editor allows you to design any menu layout like so it is perfectly possible to build this menu without having to touch any xml. You can add all the mmain menu elements and then create submenus for these. The only thing I dont do currently is auto display the submenu but this are access via the up arrow/key - an submenu indicator is displayed for those menus that have submenus. (BasicHomeEditor - streamedmp - Using the StreamedMP BasicHome editor to create/customize the BasicHome menu. - Project Hosting on Google Code)

I have done some further work to the editor to bring it further into line with your mod, will PM you with location of a pre-release version of the editor for you to try out, using this you should easily be able to design the menu you have here.

Thanks

Hi there,

I've been absolutly blind. havent seen this configuration option. As you said, trevor, it's perfect. So now ive done a test config and run it for testing in my home cinema system. It increases the WAF I think very much, because my girlfrend is owning the remote much more times as I, for the first time :D
