@mm1352000 do you rememeber what parts of MP require installed WMP? so that we can log WMP version for those parts (i am not sure TVService and SetupTV need that, but MP itself and Configuration need it, right?)

WMP is not required as such. However, Microsoft bundles BDA and DirectShow updates with WMP releases/updates. So, we require the latest version of WMP to be installed so that the latest updates for BDA and DirectShow are installed. This requirement applies to both MediaPortal (because it uses DirectShow) and TV Server (because it uses BDA and DirectShow).

Is it enough to write to log "Windows Media Player: 12.3.4.5" or "Windows Media Player: not installed" then?
