I don't suppose you guys know of a tool that will look at my backed up AVI versions in a single folder, create a sub folder for each movie and then movie the movies into sub folders?

I guess I'm wishing here and will have to do it manually?

Hi, sorry i don't know a tool that will do this.
however it's quite easy to make a script or program that will do it.

but it better be like a 100+ movies! :)

to be sure, you have decomressed all movies in a single folder, no other files?

Put all your movies in one folder, put the batch file in this folder, start this batch file.
    That's all folks ;)

    Hi!
Thank you for the utility. It works very well!

I have 2 suggestions for you.

    1. I'm using Moving Pictures and this plug-in has two options in the "Importer Settings" tab:
Search movie folders for cover art named: folder.jpg|folder.png|folder.bmp
Search movie folders for backdrops named: backdrop.jpg|backdrop.png|backdrop.bmp

Would it be difficult to add an option that saves also backdrop files into the movie directory?

    2.
Add option to use a custom name for the cover art and backdrop files.
I believe that this option will bring more versatility to your nice utility.

    Thanks

I've just tried this and have a few questions on the interface:

I manually edited the ini file to point it to my movies directory. When I ran the program, I didn't know what to do - it wasn't clear which button I was supposed to push to have it start the scan and import. I eventually clicked on the "Scrape" button and it started. I think it needs to be made clear how to start the scan/import.

I've now discovered that if you click on a line in the log file that starts with "COVER:", then the rest of the fields fill in details. I didn't know this after the full scan was finished since the fields all remain blank. It's only when I accidentally clicked on a COVER: line that things made sense. Up until then, I couldn't figure out what all the other fields are for. I guess in hindsight, the current layout doesn't really make sense to me when I first see it...

The full scan has finished and it did a good job of finding images. But I think after scanning 1600 movies, I need some way of reviewing what it's done. The only way I can see is to either click, or use the arrow keys, to highlight each "COVER:" line in the log file, which is a really slow way to review each one. Perhaps the up/down arrow keys should only jump from COVER: to COVER: rather than all lines in the log file?

The images that are displayed are not scaled to fit the window, so it's hard to see if the image is good or not. I'd like to either resize the gui or have the image scaled proportionally to fit the window.

I'm not sure if the app is supposed to be able to do this, but I couldn't find a way to search for only one movie cover. After reviewing the ones it had found during the scrape, I wanted to then select a movie and have it re-search for covers. I guess that's pretty silly since it will just find the same one again, but it would be great if it popped up a window that shows multiple images so that I could choose a better one. I'm aware that I can put a URL in manually, but that means going out of the app to find the url, which makes it a far more complicated matter.

    Manray:
Your are in luck, i just open the code yesterday and made som improvents :)
will release the fixes shortly, mainly some small search improvements.
so a small additions should not be a problem however i don't know what backdrop is for?

    2. a custome name to save the folder.jpg?? for what reason? this would rendere rescan kinda crappy, tecnicaly its not a big problem, do you have any info here? :)

    dir:
I agree the user interface could be better :)
it's just what it has grown to from the beginning... and it was originaly a challange to se if i could make a better detector then the included one in MP, which is sad! so sad! and i'm pleased to say that is does!!! :)

A rescan of a singe selected movie is possible.. ( a right click option would be cooler....)
if you delete the cover, it will rescan it on the next full pass.. if you change the movie poster DB, it may find a different cover on imdb.
After reopening the code again i agree this could be clearer in the gui :)

it was originaly intended to run as a scheduled task in windows, not requiering user input :)
    however this can change :)

    hi

nice work, but is there a opportunity to search in subdirectories?

Perhaps people sorted the list (a-z or genre) like me.
Or there is a subcollection (James Bond).

I would like to set one folder.

    Hi
i have been thinking about it a bit, since i also have 007 collection :)
i didn't make it because i don't have many collections organiced in that way, and secondly to avoid miss detections...

Do you have en example structure?
