sorry to sort of hijack this thread but i was thinking perhaps you can have a configurable option in to choose where the systems finds the database files. That way if you have the movies database stored on a shared folder other clients can connect to it and read whats in the database, not sure how well it would cope being used by multiple clients but hopefullly the information isn't being changed just read ? Basically similar to what you can do with the mytv series plugin

MP(1) will only use LAV if you select "Internal DirectShow player" as music output, but then you lose gapless playback.
