No.... Is this the drive that you have the movie issues on?
if it is, its possible there are a lot of errors / issues with this drive causing this to take so long and when playing movies.

It is that drive. This drive is strictly storage of movie files and nothing else.

If you restart your system, it should prompt you after restarting to stop the check.
I would suggest you backup that drive (if it will) and see about replacing it

I already backed it up first as I have (2) external 2 TB drives backing each one up. So you are saying while its in the process of scanning still, just restart the computer? When it restarts stop the check, then what, just replace the drive or start the check again?

I guess I question the drive being at fault because using a couple different players there is no video playback issues on the exact same files, just when they play in MP?

I would restart and cancel the scan.

If you really think it might not been an issue with the drive, then you need to figure out the common cause.
I would disable ALL add-on's on MP and see if it clears up. If it does, start one and test, started another and test.
If you can nail it down to one or 2 plugins, I am sure the Dev's would like to know about it.

You think a plugin could be the issue even though MP only does this freezing on this E: drive and not the primary C: drive video files? I will try disabling them though I only have a couple plugins installed , IMBD+, Moving Pictures, Titan Extended, and just installed LAV Filters, HTPC info and Backup Settings. Up until my upgrade to 1.9 yesterday, I only had the first 3 installed. Those three are all fairly needed to operate MP no?

I will check and see if I have any warranty left on the drive as its not used that much, but I think I am a couple months out of my 2 year window from WD...

Just got off the phone with Western Digital. My Green 2TB Drive was actually 2 months past warranty, but they offered a one time exception to replace it for free and when talking with them even offered to upgrade it to a 2TB Black HDD for free! 3-5 Days I can replace it and go from there. I will update if that fixes it or not. If this does fix it, I may consider moving to a SSD for the OS and programs to get the other Green 2 TB drive out of there. Then run two large capacity drives for just storage.

    Thanks for all your help!
