Modified IMDB grabberscript

I've changed the imdb grabberscript to get the rating and votecount correctly.

    :D

Will take a look and get it out on the staging server so people can pull it down via the new 'Update' scripts button.

If you fancy anther challenge, we where going to but some regex matching on the MPAArating section.

On IMDB this is either recorded as

    Certification:
    or
    MPAA:

What we need to need is clean up that string so it just passes back the USA rating in it's correct form, so:

    IMDB sayd this
Rated R for strong, pervasive vampire violence and gore, language, and brief sexuality.

    but we only want this
    R

as it will display a lot better in skins with just the standard rating

Hi, had a look but the script you are undating is just for this enhancement which is now dead.
There is no need to use this version any more as most of the good changes are now in SVN.
You cannot choose where to get your covers from with the new SVN version, but it does have an auto update csscript facility with central store + update grabbers.
The covers retrived from the svn version now also default to better options, moviexml gets high res covers from there and other like imdb fall back to IMPAwards.

I am sure the remainder of the features you all like from this test build will make it into the core at some point, but at the moment we are thinking more like version 1.0.1 just we can get 1.0 as stable as possible.

    See the new grabbers subforum.
Movie Info Grabbers - MediaPortal Forum

If you want to start using the latest svn and make your changes to that version we can get them released to all.

Did you update the right file ? The one in:

    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\scripts\MovieInfo

And don't use the "Update" button after the replacement of the file. The update will overwrite the modified file.

    Hope this helps.

I am running the SVN now... Hopefully the covers option, scanning changes and other great changes/features will be built into this soon :D

Wish the cover stuff would get into the SVN :)

on another note, gamejester, have you checked out the method that 'Moving Pictures' uses to scan and match movies ? In addition the way it gives you the options to confirm/change movies with possible errors?

    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/moving-pictures-284/moving-pictures-public-beta-0-5-5b-45365/

I am not using it for my movies, but I just installed it to see how the matching goes and I had pretty good sucess as well.

Is there anyway your matching method in this thread can be put into the SVN ? After using the SVN I am not very impressed with the scanner!

Have been following the Moving Pictures plugin, looks very promissing.
As for getting the enhancements and better matching I worked on in this version into SVN, not at the moment, sorry. We are working for a stable release, so no feature changes until that goes live, but will look to re-introduce them in 1.0.1
