I had a tool that I used for processing "scene releases". They normally contain the nfo file, which has a link to imdb.
My tool would then process attached files (unrar etc) and then rename them accordingly to imdb name and year.
It also used mediainfo.dll to distinguish fakes and "torrent poisons" and delete them.

If there would be a demand for it, I could revive it back.

This sounds pretty promising -- without knowing too much about the absolute MP state of the art, I'd definitely say I'm interested!

I'd also like to second the opinion that using the folder name for search purposes would be awesome. My preferred download solution gives me automatic robust folder naming, but doesn't touch the .mkv name inside the folder. It's frustrating that MP stumbles over the crap non-verbose file name, when the folder name is flawless and *right there*!

    ISSUE 1: - Scan / Cover Issue

'The Longest Yard.avi' matches to "The Longest Yard Sale" ... Now, when you go into the GUI and press imdb, then refresh to locate the correct "The Longest Yard" it brings up the right one, but doesn't bring up a cover - its blank. You need to change overs until you find one.

This is by design. I assume the first movie "The Longest Yard Sale" had no cover, that is why no cover was initially displayed after the search returned. The idea here is that when you do a cover update for a movie it will laways display the current cover + all the new ones found. I could add some logic to check if the current cover is blank then remove it from the array; or specifically if you do an IMDB refresh that you do not want the current cover any more and get rid of it. I will have a look.

    gamejester,

I will try to give you the reproduction steps as best I can...

Firstly, I am using the latest version of your application (v7). You will need to have a few movie files which include the following 2:

'John Forgerty - Soundstage Part 1.mkv'
'John Forgerty - Soundstage Part 2.mkv'

Now, including these and some others, run a database scan using only your included IMDB grabber, I am currently using MoviesXML, IMPAwards & Amazon in the covers section.

Once you do a scan using IMDB grabber only, and it wont find the above John Fogerty music video, then add the moviexml as a secondary grabber and run the scan again. That is when I got the exception error on the second file.

Weird, I will look into it.
Thanks also for posting the detailed steps on the crash, I think I know why that is happening and will roll it into the next lot of fixes.

    No problem, my pleasure...

I understand that the wrong movie got selected and I don't have any issue with that, I can add a year in to fix that for the next scan..

However, it is more an issue that when I refreshed & selected another movie, that it wouldn't display the cover for that movie, rather the old incorrect movie.

Hopefully that makes sense, I can try to give a more detailed description & reproduction info if required.

I understand, will have a look. It all requires a bit more logic in the checking process when in the IMDB viewing screen.

Is it possible to add a feature so we can create a list of words that are not included in the search... Ie. They are stripped from the file name prior to going to the grabber/search?

For example: SCR, Screener, DVDSCR, R5, TS, TC, etc ?

The reason I say making it a custom list/extra option is because it looks like there are many different ways people have there file names, etc.

    Woops

    What about this:

When in the 'My Movies' I have noticed if you are using the "Large Icons" view, lets say and your screen fits 6 across. If you have an odd number of movies and are scrolling down on the right hand side, it will come to the end and skip back to the top.

However, if you have an odd number of movies they may only go across 1 or 2 on the final line. So it is actually skipping the last couple of movies.

I hope this makes sense, perhaps a better behaviour would be that if you are scrolling down it still displays the final line, even if there is not a movie on the current column you are on.

If my explanation lacks enough detail, please let me know and I will try to explain better ..
