If you mean the blaster, basically you have to teach the computer the remote codes you want to send, then you put the IR buds (come with loads of cable) above the receiver of the device you want to send codes too. So it should work fine with any remote codes.

On a slightly off topic note, I am in the US at the moment and just bought an XBOX 360 remote for only US$29. It's a great looking unit. I can't wait to get back to Oz to try it out.
I think tehy will be more expensive back home until 360's are not such a new item. You can also buy a very similar looking aftermarket unit for $19.

Well got the remote today, nice quick delivery :) Even had a quick play at lunch on the laptop :)

Going to have a play this weekend.

Just two more quick questions, this is espically for Aus users :

    1. The Channel Logos, has anyone got them al FTA + Foxtel to download ?

    2. What video capture / turner do u recommend to use with Foxtel ?

    Matt.

Thanks guys for all your help, have the machine going with a friends digital TV turner card in it, the card doesn't have any video in so can't test the foxtel part yet. And the MCE remote is nice.

Have a couple of questions though.

    1. How do u setup the EPG guide to so that it will display for the FTA channels ? i.e I have got Dugg going nicely but it hasn't mapped them to the FTA Channels ?

    2. I'm using a ATI Radeon 9200SE video card with S-Video out, and using a converter to convert it to RCA, all plugged into a Panasonic 68cm CRT TV. Now the question is, what is the best way to get it to work so u can clearly read the menus ? can read it now but not as clear as I would like, any suggestions or guides around to help with this ?

    Thanks
    Matt.

You have to have the channel name exactly the same in the TV configuration as you have them in the tvguide.xml file, then they will be mapped. Have a look at the "channelswap" and "channeldupe" commands in DUGG - for example if you have "7 Digital" and "Seven" (for analog) set up in TV configuration, then you need entries for both those channels in your tvguide.xml file.

The RCA connection is called "composite" and of all the possible analog connections to your TV, it is the least sharp. If you want to get sharper text, then you need to use the component connection to your TV (if it has such a connection). There's nothing you can do to improve the composite (RCA) connection. Even S-Video into your TV would give a slightly sharper image.

you could also try adjusting the focus of your tv. A lot of older sets didn't worry too much about focus as they never had to display too much fine text, only pictures. You still wont get the same quality as a monitor but ti may help.

**Big Warning** you know that a tv can kill you if you take the back off and even if it is unpluggd it will still store enough power to throw you across a room. Some have a live chassis, so ANY metal parts on the inside can be fatal.
Even if that isn't enough to put you off (hey, aren't we all indestructable) then remember that if you don't know what you are doing you will more than likely make the problem worse.
