Is it possible to fix this in Movingpictures or does the ofdb has this problem?

Hi RoChess, is it possible to use this for the "Sort By" entry?

The correct XBMC NFO format is available at: Import - Export Library - XBMC

So there you can see you would need to use:

<sorttitle>James Bond - 01 - Dr. No</sorttitle>

Language and Writers are not defined on the XBMC page, so the original MovingPictures scraper didn't support them either. To compensate for that I've made an update @ https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/moving-pictures-284/xmbc-scraper-does-work-76032/#post559455

But I'm still waiting for clahti to test it, as I won't be able to properly test that scraper myself, and can't add it to the SVN then.

I have tried to downgrade form 1.0 beta to the newest stable. But it seems that some xml files still remains and the ui is quite broken. Any tips on how to do a complete uninstall?

Edit:
Found it, deleted the old xml files in the skin folders!

The error I encountered with the beta was that it seemed to read, or write constantly to the external usb harddrive when I started mediaportal, so I could not start any movie.

I highly recommend aMPed for people still on a 4:3 setup.

But my constant monitoring of Craigslist ads in my area finally paid off and I scored a 37" 1080i 16:9 CRT monster for $42 a few months ago. Since I almost broke my back trying to transport the 168lbs monster, I can understand why people are getting rid of them for cheap

Lot of people got an LCD from Christmas, or are going for one of the cheap deals due to the Superbowl (for US users), so it's not a bad idea to scan your local craigslist alike website for good deals.

Of course once I upgrade the WD TV Mini in the bedroom with another HTPC, then I'll require aMPed again

Today I was searching for a cool Channel Ident [for instance: YouTube - Disney Cinemagic HD - Ident Premiere (Deutschland) (HD)] as a Introduction for my movies. Now I Recogneized that not all movie genres fit into one Ident. This brought me to the idea of an enhancement of moving pictures:

- Possibility to use different Introductions for each genre.

How does this strike to you? Would it be possible to include this and how big is the effort for this?

Sign up on Google SVN and 'Star' the issue if you want to stay informed on progress. Don't expect it to be added anytime soon, but at least now it is on the official request list.

"Automatically import inserted DVDs" is checked. I've noticed that every time I insert DVD, even when currently not in Moving Pictures (I'm in TVSeries), the DVD scan is initiated. Is it possible to limit DVD scan only when currently in Moving Pictures plugin?

first thanks a lot for the great work! this is truly now the best movie plugin for MP.
quick question though to those of you that have large numbers of movies (i have around 3000): how is your plugin speed?
i run MP on a core 2, not a speedster by any means but usually plenty fast enough - right now it takes about 10 seconds to enter the moving pictures plugin, then there is a delay to get into most submenus as well of around 10-15 seconds, which makes it barely useable.

I currently still use myfilms, which loads instantaneously, so is there a way to optimize moving pictures to run faster as well?

also on the same subject, the "movie categories" button to customize the categories in the configuration panel takes waay too long to load, i imagine because it actually loads all the movies under each filter. Could it be possible to disable that to speed things up? each time i want to try a new category i need to wait for minutes...

i think a lot of people have the same performance problems. mine aren't as bad, but when i scroll through my movies in list mode, the covers and fanart take about 10 seconds to catch up. i'm using streamedmp, which also might be the source of the problem.

Interesting, as since I upgraded moving pictures, if I put the PC running MP in to standby and then resume it again, MP does a full restart (set in the options) however the whole of MP is VERY sluggish and this plugin then becomes unusable (30s to load up cover art for 8 movies, 2-3s delay to move to the next movie and fastforward / rewind when playing is a disaster). Doing a full reboot of the PC fixes this every time. I have avoided putting it in to standby mode for now, but this occurred immediately after upgrading moving pictures and was never an issue in the past. Does anyone else have similar issues to this ? Avoiding standby, or a full pc reboot avoids this slow down. I also agree though even when it is working, navigation and covert art refresh is rather clunky, I am on a 3GHz, dual core P4 which ought to be ample. Ram is plentiful and the disk a new baraccuda.
