    Hey guys,

Ever since I upgraded from the Beta to RC, I get Micro Freezes every now and then when watching live TV. The video stops for up to a second then continues on. The Audio is not affected.

All I've done is upgrade MP, no settings or anything else have changed. If I was to take a wild guess, it's the code change implemented to avoid crashing during corrupted DVB packets because it seems to happen more when I'm flicking a light switch on and off. It seems that the video now pauses for a moment to ignore the corruption instead of display garbage onscreen.

    Anyone else noticed this?

Now that would worry me, think you have a house related electrical problem, anything else powering up causing interference, ie microwave etc.

hehe maybe it does. I believe we have a signal booster on the Antenna so any sparking on the 240v line (or the Earth line I suppose) can cause a glitch, but it's a rare occurrence. Usually the kitchen blender is the thing that causes excessive glitching.

The pausing only happens maybe once every ten minutes so it's not really a problem. Just wandering why the pausing is happening that's all.

I must admit the house has seen better days and does indeed need some electrical maintenance, but either way it will be interesting to see what happens to Live TV during a storm.
Usually I see corrupted blocks fill the screen on the lesser strength channels (SBS and ABC), the video may just freeze for minutes at a time with the RC if my theory is correct.

In my experience that isn't normal. Stormy whether that gives me dropouts in satellite reception makes no problems for my terrestrial reception. Do you have a masthead amp that is filling up with water or something?

As long as I can remember, rough weather has always affected reception in all the houses I've lived in. I've always seen snowy reception with Analog signals in a storm. I'm surprised the weather doesn't affect your reception. In saying that, it's quite hilly in Sydney so it can be difficult to get a decent signal.

Not sure about the masthead, I may look into that.

AW: Re: MP 1.2.0RC TV micro freezes

    Hi all

Iam intend to give +1 for this topic because since I changed to rev 1.2.0 I made same observation. In nonregular intervals (serveral tiems per hour) I get stuttering video.
The stutter is only few seconds long. Audio dont stutter.

I guess I need to mention that with 1.1.3 I got absolute NO stutter, but random crash of TVServer and Frontend every 2-3 days.

It could be a bad antenna signal signal that crashed 1.1.3 and now 1.2.0 RC is not as error prone to crash on weak signals (hopefully it wont crash ever because of such) : 0002986: weak signals can crash the tvservice - MediaPortal Bugtracker . Now bad signal would be causing stuttering.

Please post logs around the time when the stuttering happens (and check from clock the time when it happens).

Well I also must give a +1 . I do see intermittent stuttering in LiveTV with PDVD9 and PDVD11 it even stops the livetv sometimes. I also did an upgrade from beta to RC. Need to find the time to investigate further.
