I use V 1.7.1 Hotfix. It's a complete new installation because i changed the hardware. I'll try several hints in the next days (not much time because of the soccer championship...).
Yesterday i replaced the hcwhelper.exe. It works but not all the buttons in my remote work (especially the "back" button is missing). I configured the remote as "MCE Remote" in MP. That was the best practise to get it to work...
I think i'm gonna buy another remote that works 100% with MP, the actual problem is really boring.
Ummm, I would have thought you should enable the Hauppauge remote plugin, not the MCE one. Either way it should be possible to learn the commands, and therefore completely unnecessary to buy a new remote unless you want to.
[edit: In case it wasn't clear, the change I made will have zero effect if you've configured the remote as a MCE remote. I don't understand why you wouldn't configure it as a Hauppauge remote. If there is something wrong with the Hauppauge option then please tell me so I can try to fix it.]
Now i've done the next try. I updatet MP to V 1.8.0, then i installed Hauppage IR32, i replaced the hcwhelper.exe, choosed the Hauppage IR in the remote section und used the "Learning" mode. Learing worked in the end, the hcwhelper crashed a lot of times but in the end i could learn all the buttons und the remote control works.
Only the power button (mapped to windows sleep mode) works only once, after the next start of MP, it only closes MP and doesn't put Windows to sleep. That's not fine but i can live with it.
