If you or SpudR want assistance then you will need to collect full log files using the Watchdog tool. You can use option 3 to export the existing log files. Full log files are needed because [usually] only the Windows application event log can show the cause of the crash, and only the Watchdog tool will collect that log.

Any other way to provide you with useful info?
    1. Start Configurator, set Debug level for log
    2. Quit Configurator
    3. Delete all log files (You can also clear the Event log in windows)
    4. Start Configurator
    5. Make it so that it collapsed.
    6. Start Watchdog and choise 3 clause:
    =Watchdog_GUI.JPG
    Export all currently present logs
    • This will collect all currently available log files and export them to a zip archive without starting MediaPortal.

When I start Watchdog, it just crashes. As well...
So then most likely one or more files are corrupt or security software is preventing startup. Please try temporarily disabling all security software. If that doesn't help, please:
    1. Attach c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\MediaPortal.xml.
    2. Zip and attach c:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log.
    3. Export, zip and attach the Windows application event log.
*c:\ProgramData is normally hidden by Windows. You can get there by copy + pasting the path into the address bar in Windows Explorer
**If you don't know how to export the Windows application event log, Google should be able to give you instructions for whatever version of Windows you're using.

I know that MPconfig is running in admin mode, but since the PC is part of the domain access is no problem. The music is on a domain joined share as well. If you prefer, I can re-run this without admin mode?

Also Windows 10 and scanning a network share.

Did you try going back to MP 1.13 to confirm the problem existed in that release too?

I have found a few errors on the old PC - namely the .Net stuff and the C++ stuff
I've just reinstalled the C++ stuff and am reinstalling the .Net stuff as I type.
I'm also going to run the MS .net hotfix thing (MicrosoftFixit50123.msi) and the Windows Update hotfix (MicrosoftFixit50202.msi) and then run through the System Update Readiness Tool (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/947821)
Then a good old [Start] >> run >> sfc /scannow [enter]
    Finally going for cleanup:
    1. Ccleaner
    2. Sytem Clean Up (https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/kb/315246)
    3. System Ninja
    4. MalwareBytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org)
    5. ADWCleaner
    6. Defraggler
That should put things in a good frame of mind!
    I'll post back the results...

(you might find this useful too: http://www.asoft.be/prod_netver.html)

    #EDIT#
I Also update MP to the 1.14.0 Final version
    Issue still there :(

I'm deleting the MusicDatabase and recreating to see if that works...

    #EIDT2#
    Same error
