MediaPortal Version : 1.2 Beta
MediaPortal Skin : Streamed MP 1.6.6.2799 Beta
My-TV Series : 3.0.3.1747
Windows version : Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit

Hi folks,

for weeks I have a problem with my My-TV Series. Adding new series (already named correctly) to My-TV Series (while MP is running!), crashes Media Portal with the message "Media portal has stopped working " when trying to download images and information.
Because of this, I have already updated to MP 1.2 MP Beta and Streamed 1.6.6.2799 Beta. But these crashes still occur. If I add the series about the Updater in the My-TV Series Configuration, everything works fine.

I have attached the logs and I hope that someone can say more about my situation.

Have you got the original MediaInfo Dll installed that comes with MediaPortal 1.2 Beta?

Crash is occurring in that DLL, also did you modify the mediainfo speed option in the database?

I did not modify anything. The MP 1.2 Beta Installation is just fresh. So what can I do?

OK, it's not quite correct. I installed the MP 1.2 Beta yesterday, but I have used the update function since MP 1.1.2

Is it possible, that the MediaInfo DLL could not be updated?

Do you mean that the dll that is in the 1.2b is causing crashes?
Is the latest tvseries.exe updating this dll?
If not, whick one do you recommed?

TVSeries depends on the MediaInfo.dll provided by MediaPortal, it does not install it. It assumes you have 1.2 Beta properly installed, please confirm the version that is current installed in your directory as your upgrade from 1.1.x may not have been done properly.

The version of the mediainfo.dll is 0.7.35.0 I think it is the newest one.

I just made a quick test installation of MP 1.2 Beta and the newest Streamed MP on my laptop. I did not configure anything except the file path. I just added a few episodes of a series and used the importer. Then I started MP an added a further episode. Everything works fine and the required information are downloaded instantly from thetvtb.com

But the curious about this thing is...

A few month ago I did a complete reinstallation of my htpc from Windows XP Pro SP3 to Win 7 Pro (now even with SP1) because of the same error. But at this moment I did not know the reason of crashes. My Media Portal installation is quite not that difficult. A few MP Updates, a few Streamed MP updates via updater and a little bit of standard configuration, that's it.

    maybe its something to do

"MCESession: Trying to start an instance of a COM component with GUID {20600B49-243F-40EE-9491-3A1176A35114}... Server = "C:\Program Files\ANTEC\VFD\MediaInfo.dll"

thats not the path its usually in

also this doesnt seem to work either

    Error while loading driver C:\Program Files\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\Plugins\process\LCDDrivers\LCD2USB.dll

they are something to do with your case?
