Hi Everyone,

Anyone have any thoughts on this one.....

It started with a clean install of 1.1 final on both the client and server but doesn't happen everytime. Seems like if the computers are sitting for a few hours then we come back to watch some TV it freezes. I am able to view the guide no problem but when I select the show I want to watch it freezes and I need to kill MP.

I've attached the logs for someone to look at with more knowledge of this stuff than me.

Thanks.

Hi Cousin_Jerry,

I am experiencing the same issue. But I thought this is normal :)

After doing nothing for several hours MP hangs when starting LiveTV.
In my case it isn't enough to kill MP and restart it - I have to restart my whole box to get LiveTV running again. This might be something tv-server related.

The next time this happens I'll also post my logs.

I've actually realized that when it freezes, I can see lots of network activity when I open up the task manager (the same as if I was watching TV) but what happens when I leave it and don't kill it, the TV eventually turns on! It takes I would guess about 10 minutes for it to come on. After that it will be fine until it sits again for a few hours.

Not sure what is happening, just started after my fresh install of 1.1.

IIRC this also happened in the previous RC versions (RC3-6)
I never checked network activity. I just hit Alt+F4 and restarted MP - but that never helped so I restarted the whole system and it worked again.

So I just noticed last night that when this happens, the TV eventually turns on (approx. 10 minutes later) but starts playing the show from when I pressed OK (so its time shifted).

Does this help anyone figure out what is going on? The WAF is quickly declining!!!

What I found out is that there are no log entries.

Today I stopped watching TV at about 3 pm. My box just stood there and did nothing until now (6 pm) Then I tried to "watch TV" and MP freezed again. The last log entry in every log I searched is from 14:44:48.

There was neither network nor harddisk activity - just nothing. Windows Task Manager said "Media Portal - not responding"
