Mp Gui Freezing. (1 Viewer)

Since SVN 17258 MP GUI keeps freezing/unresponsive while playing back TS files or timeshifting requiring killing the process.

This only happens when the tv server plugin is installed and is random but will normaly occur when changing MP pages or sub menus but will also freeze if just watching fullscreen.

The video and audio will carry on normaly but subs will freeze, I have tested with subs disabled and the same freezing happens.

Realy odd as though there is a priority contention betwen the MP GUI and the TV plugin.

The TV server isn't affected and powerschedular still comunicates .

I think I have found the problem for freezing GUI on single core single cpu sytems that have been affected by this.

If the priotity of the MP.exe is set higher than NORMAL then the random freezing occurs, on NORMAL I have yet to experience freezing during testing (but i do get more stutter now ).

So it looks like priority contention between the tvplugin and the MP GUI.

I'm pretty sure it was rtv who pointed out this issue in another post with increasing MP's priority.

Now you just need to find out what is causing the stutter, i had this occur after a windows update screwed a creative driver install, a twat to find if i had not been aware of it having been done.

in fact that's the 2nd time creative drivers have screwed my system.

The symptom is quite odd and very random but repeatable (only affects my single core single cpu systems which are obviously older cpu's and lower power Mhz/Ghz)

Only MP GUI affected when the tvplugin installed and to make things even more difficult to debug there are no logs produced that can be attributed to the Hang.

Only had the problem after 17258 . In another thread I requested the bug repair of the MP priotity setting not being respected this highlighted the problem, previously i had manualy rasied the priority after MP started without issue.

Never touch anything by CREATIVE, utter garbage.
