btw. tourettes you've never replied to me advising you that the Debugging Tools for Windows 32-bit Version link listed on your Memory Dump - MediaPortal Wiki page doesn't work. hence I was never able to do the test you wanted me to do.

no problem at all, I understand this is all just a hobby and I get that part. you guys don't worry about my problem anymore. I am taking a break from MP for now, but I'll come back to check things out next year again. cheers.

I've had the same problem for over a year, though assumed it was due to using a RC (1.1.0 RC I believe) which I never got around to updating until last week. However, the same problem occurs in my newly installed 1.2.1, so I arrived here seeking to solve the issue. As my problem is quite similar to caprica13's, I'll only point out two additional pieces of info, hoping to narrow the range somewhat:

* Freezing have only occured when playing HD video (.mkv files), and never with regular xvid.
However, to my surprise, the same prob happened yesterday with a 768x432 .wmv file [WVC1] (which I usually do not use).

* Freezing always occurs when such a video reaches the end, or usually after stopping (not pausing) the video manually - however this seems to happen more often towards the end of the video than if stopping it early on.

As the case for caprica13, I have no troubles in VLC.

Hi and welcome pa2k

Can you please use the watchdog to reproduce the problem and provide logs.

1. Find the "debug mode" link in the "Team MediaPortal" folder in your start menu.
2. Select option 1 "report a bug...".
3. Click "proceed" - this will start MP.
4. Reproduce the problem.
5. Close MP - this will trigger the watchdog to create a zip file containing your logs.
6. Post the zip file here.

If you get stuck then you can get help in our wiki -->here<--. There are instructions for how to post attachments etc.

Also, if you're not able to reproduce the problem with specific steps then please use option 3 "export all currently present logs" instead of option 1 in the watchdog - instead of starting MP that will create the zip file on your desktop straight away.

Just for the record: I haven't had this problem since I upgraded my video card. Still working just fine.

Thanks mm1352000, though I cannot provide logs as the problem seemed to go away after upgrading my video drivers to the latest available at the time (september'11 ed.) - which was suggested as a likely culprit in the thread I linked to. So even though I had experienced the prob with several different catalyst versions, both pre and post the 11.2 drivers that was highlighted there, catalyst 11.9 did the trick as far as I can tell (with no other major changes to my system). Will return if the bug does.
