How do you update TVdatabaseV21.db3 with the transcoder

Fabrice, now that 0.2.3.0 has been replaced by 1.0 which doesnt appear to use the TVdatabaseV21.db3 database anymore, can you explain how you updated the "Recorded" table in TVdatabaseV21.db3 with the new file extension after the dvr-ms file is replaced by the AVI or MP4 compressed file??

I have been using your transcoder plugin for months on 0.2.3.0 and would like to know.

This is a crying shame. This great plugin, something which i think is a must have for any mp install, works all the way up to MP 1.0, and stops.
We are only on 1.0.2 atm and now it doesn’t work. There is no source code and the developer has vanished!.
Basically, to get anything like this again, someone will have to repeat the years of development all over again!

Please, Fabrice, update this great plugin and/or release the source code.
Someone will probably take over and continue work on this if you do not have the time. Don’t let your hard work go to waste.

I'm running MP 1.1.0 now... I've spent the weekend playing with MediaPortal, and I'm wondering what ever happened to the compress option that used to be in Recorded TV? It would be nice to be able to keep some of my content in a more compressed format if possible. It looks like this transcoding pluggin might have done the trick but doesn't work since 1.0.1.

Anybody?

I'm willing to pay for this functionality even. Now my TV shows take up alot of space, wich I rather use for mkv's.

Low quality 30mins shows shouldn't take more then 300mb to watch them a later date.

The only solution I know of is MCEBuddy, use the 1.0.8 version, and add .ts as format (in the space where it says format .dvr-ms), maybe leave a 14 day before re-encoding time, so you can watch the stuff you do not want to keep, and it will keep rthe stuff you have saved in your recording folder.

Hi Ray, I did this for a while, but then you lose all the info.

Maybe a good option would be using MCE buddy as you said and a much simplier plugin that checks every day the sql database for .ts filenames then searches for them in the recording folder if they have a new extention and renames them to the new extention.

(I did this manual a few times and it worked, not sure with 1.02 or newer as it has been a while)

Someone good with sql / mediaportal should be able to do this quite easily, looks much like the import function.

I don't know if the "recorded TV" still plays avi's or wmv's though ?
