You have a couple of options really, but they are all manual input, obviously recordings fall into 2 or 3 categories, tvseries, Movies or music, these files would have to be renamed manually to get there respective plugin's to search for the details.
Now this could be a script based system, but a GUI would be better, as this could then be a plugin that monitors that folder as well to get attention in MP's GUI that a new file needs adding, this plugin would then let you access file name to edit manually, or allow search on thetvdb, themoviedb or music equivalent to be able to select name from their databases to attach to the file, this would only be a search, the scraping of the info would be done the relevant plugin once moved..
Once the name is confirmed, there could then be a selectable action to move file to the respected storage space for movies\tvseries\music video's, and then let the repective plugins for each tyoe, ie movingpictures\tvseries try and get the information.

Do not think this would be too hard to do, with of course the correct knowledge, just needs someone with the correct incentive

So to be brief, this would be a notify\search\rename\move file plugin

Hello,
I'm thinking about creating a new plug-in for video transcoding using MCE Buddy on command line or calling ffmpeg directly. MCE Buddy would have the advantage to delete commercials also whereas ffmpeg does transcoding only. Currently I use batch files to transcode all TS-files in a directory but still have some issues with some videos with interlacing. Need to find out the correct options for all kinds of streams.
What would the requirements look like and where would you like to see the options? Integrated in the MP GUI or in the Config GUI?

I have one folder for recordings and move the files from time to time to specific folders like sports, movies, series, documentation... which means i like to keep the records and would like to transcode it.

Suggestion:
Configure folders to transcode
Options:

- quality option likewise MCE Buddy profiles
- include subfolders
- exclude/include by file name pattern

Is it required to configure when transcoding is performed? Immediately after a new file appears in a folder or to a certain time when the machine idles?

What are your expectations for a new plug-in? What is important and what is nice to have?
