Hi,
i've a little Problem with my mediaportal:
everytime when i turn off my LCD Televison, Mediaportal stops palying music. When i use the windows media player is everthing fine. The problem is only with mediaportal. In the MP configuration tool i selected the "bass player". the internal palyer hasnt any function.

Any Ideas?

perhaps...but i cant find any "powerstate options" in the MP configuration tool!! now i'll try winamp as external player with the MP winamp plugin and hope that this will solve my problem.

Have you tested if the problem also accours when playing video?

I found an option in the Music preferences, i don't know what it's for, for maybe it could be that:
Music > Now Playing > "Prevent power down of monitor while in now playing"
---- Just a side question... How does this Winamp Module work? Is Winamp opened inside Mediaportal or what is it for?

I've testet the winamp plugin, but the problem is the same. YES, winamp works in the backgrund for mediaportal, but it will not be opened inside....to play und stop the music you must use winamp!

    for?

i cant find this option!!! i use mp rc4!

You should chnage the config to use expert mode. Most likely that option is hidden in the default mode.

What comes to the issue itself (music stopping when tv is turned off) there are few issues that are contributing to it.

    - turning display off causes video card drivers to turn off the video signal (At least with Nvidia its possible to use registry hack to disable that, i.e. force digital outputs on always)
    - when video signal is lost the directx device is lost (this happens only on XP, Vista is safe from this as its using DirectX 9Ex)
    - when directx device gets lost MP skin engine is reseted (this will stop the playback of music), not fixable for MP 1 as it would require huge changes

Few things you can do to overcome the issue

    #1 use Vista over XP
#2 use Nvidia over ATI (if using XP) + use registry hack to force the digital output always on

NVIDIA Forums > Force Display detection

    I don't think that helps!!!
As i said i have the same problem, and iøm runnign vista... So i think that's waste of time...
I expirienced excactly the same as you when i was playing radio from my MEdiaportal. But that channel i use to have is not working anymore and i have no music on my HTPC, so i cannot test it for you - If the new function i talked about can sort the problem!! :(

    PS. Im running RC3
