NO screen calibration file found for resolution 1920x1080!
And sure enough, I'm missing that file. I have a "ScreenCalibration1280x720.fs.xml" but no such 1920x1080 file. That might be why the fonts are too big? Where can I get this file?

Run MediaPortal in 1080p, then calibrate your screen using the General->Sceen options. When
You're done a new file should exist.

I'm also having this problem. How do I 'run' MePo in 1080p?

The fonts look big for me (I also have 125% font enlargement on in windows) but when I goto the UI calibration in the skin, I can't stretch the UI to fill my screen as if MePo is running 720 inside my screen of 1080?! :/

Further to this, I have set my PC res to 1080p and changed the fonts back to 100% zoom in widows. Inside MePo I have done the screen calibration ok. Whats the UI setup for? If I open that, the red and green box won't scale large enough to fill my screen. I set the co-ords to 1920x1080 and MePo fills the screen correctly but everything looks too big. Fonts are massive and I have not got the use large fonts option checked in the skin..

The fonts look ok during the splash screen but once in MePo they are big.

    1. What skin are you using?
    2. Are you using your HTPC for something else besides MediaPortal, or why the 125% DPI setting?

I just tried the UI calibration for the first time since upgrading my GFX card (ASUS 430) and I see I too have a much smaller UI calibration picture than before. Weird.

    Hi Emph

    1) Avallonis (no other skin installed except defaults)
    2) Webbrowsing etc and to beable to read windows explorer!

Incidently changing the font setting back doesn't fix the problem?
I have the asus card too! Wish I could find codecs that dont drop any frames :-/

Ok. I used Avallonis while testing as well, and now that I changed to StreamedMP, everything's OK. So, there's a bug in Avallonis GUI calibration XML. If you use another skin (StreamedMP is great) to calibrate your UI, then select Avallonis again everything should work as intended.

    Cheers

The same happened to me once I fixed my problem. I cranked the zoom back down to 100% in Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Display. I then had to uninstall my skin and reinstall it. I guess that made the skin recalibrate itself.

Maybe there should be a mention of this in the Wiki. Windows zoom will mess up the display in MP so don't use it.

But I have been using Windows with 125% font size for a year without it upsetting the font sizes in MP. I reinstalled Windows today and now I have this problem. There must be a work around as I seem to have inadvertantly found it before..

Have you got 125% font size working now or left it at 100%? Windows is impossible to navigate from 10' away with 100% on a 1080P screen!! lol

I never use my HTPC for anything else than MediaPortal, and when I need to do stuff like updates, I connect to it using UVC from my laptop. Running XP @ 100 size. It's really weird what's happening for you though, but surely it's some setting you had before the reinstall that you need to find and check again.

Turns out if you let MP build a cache *before* changing the windows font size setting you can indeed enable it without upsetting MP.. Which begs the question why isn't it set-able in MP if MP can override it?

Well, the problem is that if someone needs to set this in Windows, who are we to decide whether they really want it or not. If MP does use the font size setting, it looks terrible. If it doesn't, it's a bug!

Of course, I don't actually understand what any of that has to do with screen resolution, so hopefully someone who does know can explain and decide if that is a bug.
