Just wanted to drop a line and say that this .xml "mod" fixed my busted mpeg2 playback. Seems that if the mpeg2 is anything less than perfect, the Microsoft mpeg2 splitter that MediaPortal forces itself to connect to, passes bad data to my A/V codecs and results in the video skipping around, freezing, having the wrong aspect ratio, and/or glitchy or non-existant audio. Unfortunately, TmpgEnc (the mpeg2 encoder I've been recommending for years) mucks up the mpeg just enough to cause trouble with this splitter. 10 years of collecting 320GB of music videos, I'm not about to re-encode all of them, so fortunately this fix makes Mediaportal skip it's "preferred" splitter and let's me use something like Haali's which will pass the correct info on to ffdshow :) Granted this still doesn't fix my problem with mediaportal not loading hdtv mpeg2 .ts streams at all, but at least most of my collection is playable now!
:D

Same error with ts files and i have found solution.
It was mpg2splt.ax file missing and unregistered (The default windows mpeg 2 splitter).

Now i'm looking for why just *.vob files (video music not full dvd) don't play but if i rename it to *.m2v it play.

There are so many posts on this forum from people having this issue. But no concise cause or solution short of reinstalling everything :(
