MP will not start - error: application configuration is incorrect (1 Viewer)

I am hoping some one can help me with this. I am out of town for the next couple of days and my wife restarted my HTPC and now cannot start MP. She is telling me she is receiving the error: .....Application Configuration is incorrect. I am hoping this is a simple fix that I can let have her do over the phone. I had her try running in debug mode disable the plugins but it would not load. XP is loading without any error message and MPC-HC works without any problem.

perhaps your config file is corrupted somehow... 'MediaPortal.xml' there is a backup in the config folder which you could possibly restore.
