Some details

- I discussed this briefly in IRC this afternoon.
- Aero is turned on

- Steps to reproduce:
1. Start mediaportal (default/minimum amount of config possible done) (it's in windowed mode on display 1)
2. Click My TV
3. Click TV On
4. I get a few video and audio until I hover the mouse over the video stream itself, then the screens both go black for 5-10 seconds.
5. Vista comes back with this bubble:

Display driver stopped responding and has recovered
Display driver nvlddmkm stopped responding and has successfully recovered

Then I get MediaPortal.exe has stopped working. If I click Debug (I have VS2005) then I can see the exception:

Unhandled exception at 0x069f644c in MediaPortal.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x109e8000.

But there are no debug symbols loaded so I can't go any further. I can get a disassembly though if it's any use.

If you need any more info I can get it for you - this is completely reproducable.

Diagnostics tool output attached.

    Hi,
Is this a problem in MP 0.2.2.0 + SVN & not TV plugin/TVE3 installed (Since you posted in bugs for MP 0.2.2.0 + SVN)?

Saw the error "nvlddmkm" & vista is a driver problem from nvidia(nvidia forum), you could try to disable HW acceleration on your graphic card to see if it's better, of course it can be a bug in MP too ;)

    Regards
    Roy

My install is 0.2.2.0 Stable + the SVN snapshot 13533 of MP + the SVN snapshot 13533 of TVE3 (with all TV card instances removed from MP configuration and then set up in the TV service) - did I not post in the correct place?

I'll go find out tonight if there's an update from nvidia available, although MP is the only app that causes this issue - the TV/PVR software from the manufacturer works fine.

I'll also try lowering/disabling hardware accelleration on my card to see if it helps with MP but this is less than ideal.

    Hi,
Moved the post over to TVE3 bugs, maybe more ppl will see & can respond to you.
Haven't had problems like this with my ATI card on laptop & vista, but lets see what others can tell.

    Regards
    Roy

Thanks for moving the thread. I still haven't had time to check on the nvidia drivers, but i'll post back when I have.

    Hello all,
I have tested without "execute as admin" and the bug is away.
It seems this behaviour is only on systems with nvidia-graphic-cards. On my laptop with intel-gma I have no problems :)
