    Hi Tony,

bad news: Sometimes there is still the problem with coming back from external Player and no visible MP. It's possible to do everything in MP, but invisible. If TV is started, everything works fine again!
    :(
    Attached logs...

There's too much in the logs to work out what's going on - can you point me at the date/time when the external player was started and stopped (and the problem happened) ?

    Tony

    Hi Tony,
the last 2-3 Minutes should relevant:
    • stop external player
    • made some up/down with the remote, to check if MP is still response without seeing it
    • switched to TV

Added a smaler log wehere the problem happened again!

    Greets

    BERND

In the new logs, I can't see where the external player is started in MediaPortal.log - all I see is MP loading, live TV starting, then stopping and MP being closed. How is the external player run from within MP ? (I never use external players, so I've no idea how they work from within MP, or what to look for in the logs....)

Which external player is it ?

    Tony

I use MultiShortcut to open Total Media Theater, but the same problem is also with MovingPictures and PowerDVD!

I switched back to "standard" external Player to generate the logs attached. Maybe easier to analyse?!

Also the problem happens allways and I have no Idea why. Can't think of any changes... unortunatly als made no backup while it was running fine

Hi, I tested the v84 about 1 week and it run very fine on all videos except sometime on SD TV. It make this 20 seconds and return to normal (the video stuttering). No problem on HD TV.

PDVD11, Nvidia, SVN of the day.

    Edit

News : After many others tests, the fault is from PDVD 11 decoding, I use now the HAM mode decoding and don't have any problem so for me v84 work very fine :) Congratulation to you Owlsroost.

finaly I can reproduce both: No screen after leaving external Player and working fine:

    • If TV was watched before external Player was used, MP is invisible after closing external Player (with DVD).
    • If TV isn't used before starting a DVD (with external Player), everything is fine!
Attached some logs of both cases made in "debug" mode (to reduce side effects of plugins and log comlexity).

Hopefully you can find something to solve this problem!

OK thanks - I've been busy trying to sort out another MP problem (the FFDShow A/V sync problems with Live TV), so I just haven't had much time to look into the black/blank screen problems.....

Quick question - do you run MP fullscreen with 'always on top' enabled ?

As an experiment, if you run MP in windowed mode (with 'always on top' disabled) does the same problem happen ?

    Hi Tony,

this A/V sync problem with FFDShow, is it something related to new dshowhelper? Coz I've been having those problems since I've set up the TV server (using default stuff that comes with MePo installation). But would be nice to have it fixed ;)

Also, about MPAudioRenderer, you always post that we should use version from one davidf post. Any info on if or when this code will be added to SVN?

No, it's the problem in this thread - https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-support-51/live-tv-audio-video-sync-82475/ (but the TsReader.ax files I've posted there can be used with any video decoder).

Must get around to doing that.... :)

About my black/blank screen problem, yes, I'm using Mp fullscreen with 'always on top' enabled.

OK - good - I was about to say it looks like a decoder/data starvation problem but you've already found & fixed it :)
