v92 no DWM runs fine. Part DWM not. Strangely v89 part dwm was better for me.

What problems do you get with the 'part_DWM' version ?

random dropped frames - audio is working without any hickups but pictures are missing (only HD channels).

Quality of the picture seems much better and issues I had with delay in starting video are solved - only the shuttering is still there - sometimes. Also I have seen (specially on PRO7 ...) that during switch from commercials to the normal TV program the playback gets heavily corrupted (like strobo effect) - changing the channel and back again solves this.

    Version is teh part_DWM version.

Uhm - what's the difference anyway?

Attached Log (shuttering was around 21:38 and 21:41)

I'm having a problem with stuttering LiveTV (particularly on starting) and glitches throughout when running dual-screen, with MP running on my TV as secondary at 60hz, whilst my monitor is primary at 85hz.

I've posted screenshots and logs in my thread here:
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...7/dual-screens-causes-livetv-not-work-100736/

in which Owlsroost suggested I try dshowhelper_v0084_part_DWM.zip, but it doesn't seem to have helped. In fact, after booting my PC this morning, LiveTV seemed to be OK and the first time I got the stuttering LiveTV on start today (it's like a freeze frame for about 10-20 seconds) was after installing the modified dshowhelper. I haven't noticed any glitches today, but that was the case before installing this, so it's hard to say if it's helped. I'm also running with Aero disabled at the moment, as I saw that had done the trick for someone.

I notice in all my screenshots it's reporting the 85hz refresh rate from my primary monitor, rather than the 60hz from my secondary TV on which MP is running. I don't have screenshots, but I did test yesterday with the TV as primary and also with both screens set to 60hz, and still had the same problems with LiveTV (I do have logs from running the TV as primary in my first post in my thread).

Note my TV only does 60hz, which is why I'm not running it at 50hz, but it works fine for LiveTV in single-screen (and, apart from the stuttery startup, in dual-screen at the moment).

Enable Aero - the dshowhelper DWM stuff won't do anything without it (Aero = DWM, basically)

The best advice about dual monitors is - don't do it....

Wow - one moment - don't do it - what about systems with build-in Touch displays? As I have one. These are basically secondary monitors too - aren’t they? So - wouldn’t it be necessary to give MP the option to select which monitor is the dedicated one?

You can already choose which monitor MP starts on - what happens after that (with multiple monitors) when playing video is up to Windows....the MP video rendering is synchronised to the display vsync Windows provides, but there's a layer of OS and driver software between MP and the video card output....

OK, thanks I'll try again and make sure Aero is enabled.

As for "don't do it", I think that'll be rather disappointing for MPDisplay2 users ;)

FYI I bought a 2nd nvidia cheap graphic card for my touch screen (because 1st is a nvidia), it solved many problems. I'm not sure that hardware is able to manage 2 different screens at 2 different refresh rate without make some choices.

    (Technick - mon PCHC)

I could enable my ATI IGP and use that for one screen. However I've read some reports that this didn't help and it would make life hard for me as sometimes I want to game on my TV and other games are better played sitting at my desk using my monitor. If using the IGP does solve the problem, I guess when I get a LCD monitor with multiple inputs, I can connect the IGP VGA to one (to use whilst MP is running on the TV via the 6950) and the 6950 DVI or HDMI to the other (to use when I want to game on the monitor in single screen mode).

The main reason I want to use dual-screens is so that I can avoid the energy cost of having a second PC running to do Internet stuff, write letters, etc whilst I'm watching TV. Makes life easier having all my files, bookmarks, etc on one PC as well.

Anyway, I'll experiment a bit more.
