That's a valid point. I think that we need support from @hwahrmann at this stage.

I would also like to see reports from other users with a similar setup. Unfortunately my own live system is currently using SPDIF for sound, so that I can't copy your hardware setup..

Hi.
I've tested all my HiRes Audio files now. My hardware setup is as following.
Intel HD 4600 GPU > HDMI > AVR Pioneer VSX-529 > HDMI > LG TV

MP 2.1 is set to use WASAPI exclusive mode on device VSX-529 (my AVR connected via HDMI).

As a result, all files played nicely, but I saw some things in Log.

WASAPI exclusive mode not directly supported for samplerate of 88200 and 5 channels.

Same is for Sample Rate of 44100. 44100 and 88200 in Stereo did work in WASAPI exclusive mode. This can be a limitation of my hardware, but I don't know this.

Failed to initialize WASAPI exclusive mode for samplerate of 96000 and 6 channels. Trying fallback to shared mode.

This is valid or all files with high sample rates (above 48000) and more than 2 channels. I'm pretty sure this is no limitation of my hardware.
High sample rates in Stereo are working.

Check out the property page under Windows for your HDMI digital output device: test the different bit width and sample rates. Your AVR should display the respective information. At some point you won't hear anything anymore, Then set the maximum for testing, e.g. 96 kHz and run above tests once again to see if the messages are still there.

Then Wasapi is working as expected on your system. @morpheus_xx , do you have your system hooked to an AVR via HDMI to check the same thing?

@Helios61 : We can't reproduce the player errors. It is difficult to cure a problem that we don't see . Maybe this is a hardware/drivre issue of your specific hardware. Which of all the systems in your SysSpecs is the above log from?
