First thing, I know that WHS 2011 is not officially supported.
Nevertheless i want to switch my still working MP1 Installation on my WHS to MP2.

On trying to start MP2 TV Configuration i get an error message.

I tried MP2 half a year ago and installed current Mp2 version some days ago, both multiseat setups with WHS2011 as a server. Apart from the notice that this version is not officially supported, no problems so far.

Okay, i could overcome the error by just clicking it away, and MP2 started flawlessly. I did the server setup but now i cant play any media file and also no tv. On my client windows 8 is installed...

here for the logs of the client...[DOUBLEPOST=1446836519][/DOUBLEPOST]here they are, for me it seems it cant find a media player what seems strange to me ...

This looks like a simple firewall problem:
    [2017-01-07 23:30:47,824] [25708 ] [SetupTv ] [ERROR] -
System.Net.Sockets.SocketException (0x80004005): No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it 10.27.10.6:31456

I have added in the port 31456 in the firewall however the issue still remains.
I have also added both "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Plugins\SlimTV.Service3\SetupTV.exe" and "C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server" to the windows firewall wit the same error appearing.

I think it's not related to firewall. I had the same problem in the past and there are 3 possible root causes:
    • Please check your proxy and DNS settings of your LAN configuration. There shouldn't be any proxy server configured.
    • SQLite is not correctly installed. We had often the same failure code related to this (System.Data.SQLite.SQLiteException (0x80004005): constraint failed) I could solve it by deleting everything MP2 related and a clean install.
    • open C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc
and open the file named: hosts
Then make sure that it looks like this:
      # Copyright (c) 1993-2006 Microsoft Corp.
      [...]
      #
      127.0.0.1 localhost
      ::1 localhost

This appears to be an IP address problem
