MPextended setup (1 Viewer)

Today (23/1/2013) I downloaded and installed MPExtended and Ampdroid

I have a certain amount of success:
On Ampdroid, there is a red dot in the bottom right hand corner

Under TV:
Manual Control: Full data displayed
EPG: The epg data can be browsed
Channels Displayed OK
Schedules Displayed OK
Recordings Displayed OK

But under Remote I get "Remote not connected"
Under Settings, 'Connect Remote', I get "Remote cannot be connnected"

MPExtended
On the troubleshooting page, the test URLS (local host) work
But on another machine, I cannot connect (I replace localhost with the IP address of the host)
I have gone through the forums
I have checked that port 4322 in the firewall is open
I have port 4322 (and others listed in the forums) forwarded (if that is the right term)
I have checked that WiFi remote is listed as installed

Obviously, I have made some error somewhere. Any suggestions?

You obviously have a connection to MPExtended since you can browse channels/etc. So your problem seems to be WifiRemote, make sure you have the correct username/password and port 8017 is open in firewall (and forwarded).

You hit the nail on the head. I hadn't realised that there was a separate set up for the WiFi Remote plugin. Remote now working
