anyone find a solution to getting hardwaredevices to be displayed in the dropdown menu if you are running an x64 OS? Or a way to manually add a hardware device?

    just a quick one:
I don't know if this has been asked before, but would it be possible to have a fullscreen splash screen when MPSH is kicking in instead of the small window?
I think this would look much nicer and more integrated on a stand-alone HTPC.

    cheers

I have done a quick search of the thread, and although I have found people with the same problem as me, I have not spotted a solution to the issue.

Basically, if I put my htpc into standby (S3) manually by selecting "Sleep" from the power menu on the Home screen, then when the pc is woken up - either manually or automatically for a scheduled recording - MPSH performs the 4 tasks I have configured for resume.
However, if the pc goes to sleep automatically - using PowerScheduler after a period of inactivity - then MPSH does not run any of the resume tasks.
Checking the MPstandbyHandlerService.log I find the following:

    13/06/2009 14:14:34 - INFO Settings Load - Loading settings from C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\MPstandbyHandler\MPstandbyHandlerUtils.xml
    13/06/2009 14:14:34 - INFO Version 2.0.0.7
    13/06/2009 14:14:40 - INFO System Start
13/06/2009 14:14:47 - INFO System Session Change: ConsoleConnect
    13/06/2009 14:30:35 - INFO System PowerEvent: ResumeSuspend
13/06/2009 14:30:35 - WARNING OnResume - OnResume called but not suspended
    13/06/2009 14:30:35 - INFO System PowerEvent: ResumeAutomatic
13/06/2009 14:30:35 - WARNING OnResume - OnResume called but not suspended

It seems that MPSH did not realise that the pc was put into standby in the first place, and therefore refuses to execute the resume tasks, believing that the pc has not actually resumed.

From this information (and also from other sources) I am guessing that there is a "going into standby" notification that is used when the pc enters standby automatically that is different from the "going into standby" notification that is used when the pc is put into standby manually, and that MPSH does not recognise it. The ideal solution would seem to be to include this as a recognised notification, but I would be more than happy if MPSH simply executed the resume tasks whenever it received notification the the pc had resumed from standby, whether or not it had prior notification that the pc had entered standby.

Any help would be most gratefully received. If any other logs or any other information are required then please let me know and I will post them asap.

    Cheers

    Neil

I don't have much time at the moment, but i will give it a try.

BTW, i will need a good looking picture for the fullscreen splash. Who can do this?

Interesting this. My log has pretty much always got this in. Figured it was probably normal. I am running Vista SP2. Would be interested if this has something to do with why MPSH stops working intermittently on my system and says there is a problem with the flags file. I've just got used to deleting it once a week and re-booting the PC.

Thanks for this you are saving me a packet on electricity. Before this I had to leave the PC on all the time!

Hey, why not use the splash of MP (configurable?) so the integtation would be seemless?

    cheers
