I've been using mc2xml (including the recent update) to get epg from MS legacy service for more than a year with no problems. 5 days ago, mc2xml started returning status 'no new data available'.
    Anybody else see this?
Any idea whats going on, or how to fix?
    Thanks.

Same problem here. I have been using mc2xml v1.1 with MediaPortal 1.2.1 and For The Record 1.6.0.1.

I tried deleting the configuration file (.dat) and running through the setup again. A new file was generated. However, the new file had the same end date for the guide data as the previous file. It looks like the MS legacy service is no longer providing updated guide data, or mc2xml may possibly need an update.

I guess it is time to subscribe to Schedules Direct...

I started both windows mediacenter and medialportal compared the tvguides. For me both tvguides include the same data up to Dec 26 3PM. I suspect the mediacenter tvguide is only downloading data for around 7-8 days not 14 days. I'll check again tomorrow to see if both tvguides get updated to add data past Dec 26. Since both guides are in sync I think the mc2xml program is working correctly.

I too have data through Dec 26 -- but the last time data was received was Dec 15. Every mc2xml run since returns status 'no new data available'.
I suspect that MS legacy service has stopped updating. At any rate something has changed.

Remember a little while ago the mc2xml developer has made a enhanced epg version in line with M$'s new epg, this was only available to donator's, not sure if that still applies and is related as they were running 2 side by side services, checkout the guys website.

Already did -- Here's his answer.

    Hello,

I don't know what problems microsoft is experiencing or
why they sometimes don't update the servers as frequently
during/near holidays, but it seems to happen. Listings
data usually last 2 weeks; hopefully updates return
    in a day or two.

There are still lots of tvguide update comments/complaints in windows mediacenter forums and problems are at Microsoft. One comment today mentions the following, so maybe the guides updates will start working tonight.

    Windows Experts Community

"Update: Microsoft has indicated that the root cause of this issue is resolved, but it may take about 8 hours for processing to finish on the data and it to become available for download. The current expectation is that machines should start pulling the new guide data at their check-ins tonight."
