I used to have this issue a lot but a static IP address on the server made it much less frequent. However recently its been happening again - a couple of times so far this year. The server needs to be rebooted and then all is fine again. Can anyone tell me how to stop this happening forever. Attached are client and server logs from today. I tried to watch TV on the client at 8.49 09.01.2015

Hi and happy new year Ben

There's no indication in the TV Server log files that the client's tune request ever reached the server. Therefore please can you export the Windows application and system event log files from the server. I want to see if the TV service had crashed, or....

In fact, looking at the client log there's also no indication of any tune request at the time you specified. The most recent tune request appears to be at 10:42 PM on 8 Jan:

Thanks for your help, its a rather sporadic occurance (possibly occurs overnight) and like I said it always fixes itself after the server is rebooted. When it happens none of the three clients can connect.

    Bingo:

I suggest you try this patch:

This problem is exactly the sort of problem that patch is intended to solve.

Ha awesome. I will do this but one last question. The thread instructs 2 methods/files to be installed, TSReader and Streaming Server etc.

Are these files to be uploaded to the server or clients or both?

"Client" and "server" are somewhat ambiguous. The best answer I can give is already given in the existing instructions:
You can install some or all parts of the update depending on your preference/configuration.

TsReader - requires MediaPortal 1.11 or newer.
Streaming Server - requires TV Server 1.1.0 or newer
MPFileWriter - requires TV Server 1.2.0 or newer
IPTV RTSP library - requires TV Server 1.5 PR or newer

If TV Server is not installed (ie. client-only installation) then you can only install the TsReader file. Otherwise you can install all files.

This fix worked. No further random blocks to watch live TV. Thanks for the advice
