Music Artist Scraping (3 Viewers)

Can you please add what the artist name was (in the tag) when you get this default image so that I can do some tests.

I think a few of these were on a classical album I was listening to but this does happen for others.

Mozart cetainly has this default image

Also where are you getting artist from? I seem to have a fair number of thumbs for artists which are not in the artist table in music database (these have all been scaped recently so will have been scaped by fanart handler)

I am guessing this is stuff that was played via last.fm plugin ??

Hi,

New version for test will be available tomorrow. And yes, the artist thumbs would be from music that you have been playing (like, radiotime, last.fm and the likes).

Hi,

New test version attached.

The file is compiled towards MP1.2 SVN (cannot be used with MP1.1.x). The file is only for testing and should not be installed on your production box. It will upgrade your fanart handler database so be sure to backup it and your thumbs/skin fanart folder before testing.

Please let me know how it works.

Modified the management in configuration and also updated alot of the logic.

Looking good

Only thing which was a little hard to use is the new manage thumb tab includes both artists and albums (which is fine) but would it be possible to have a drop down to be able to select artist / album or both?

Also the tooltip on scrape for ... buttons both have the same text as for the delete all button

More thoughts....

Would it be possible to somehow list artists / albums with no thumbs ? (possibly a new tab ?)
Would it be possible to lock images so they do not get overridden?

I suppose scraping artist bio and album info is a step too far as well
I was having a play around with artist.getInfo Web Service and getting a little success

New version attached with the promised additions (lock, tooltip and so on). This version also includes the new fast "return to basichome" feature built in. Please test and see what you think.

OK tiny little issue is that when you parse the artist name it does not work is you have a dot in it (only for the small thumb)

eg I have Ms. Dynamite.jpg which is just picked up as Ms and M.I.A. which is just picked up as M


Also there might be a slight issue with the scrape missing thumbs option. I just clicked this and it also scraped many artists for which I already had thumbs
