Re: Mustayaluca - A blended MP Skin

I dont understand why you want to scale it down to 720p ?
1920x1080 = 1366x768 = 1280x720
So everything should scale up/down without a prob.
And correct me if im wrong, but people with a HD-Ready lcd are most likely using it @ its native res (1366x768 or 1360x768)

1080p would have to be scaled anyway so theres absolutely no reason for it in my opinion.

Re: Mustayaluca - A blended MP Skin

I must say this skin has great potential!
As for the font, I personally don't think that squirrel would fit. Best choice is to find something similar to already used font. Clean cut, modern, stylish..

OT: Its not the font that is called Squirrel, its the website. The font is called Tenby Five ;)

I dont know, I think it looks kinda similar. Althought i found alot of fonts that were more similar to the original one when looking around but those were all under some heavier license.
Most of them also didnt have non-english characters, like äöå

    i'll copy and paste something I wrote some time ago (which probably needs "clearification" :D):
    my vote goes to 1366x768 or 1920x1080,since these are the sizes of flat TVs.
    Well...
    1280 : 720 = 1920 : 1080 = 16 : 9 = 1,77778
    1366 : 768 = 1,778646 (not 16 : 9)

    - Most TV's bought during last year and in the future is most 1920p ("FullHD)
    - Most "HD-ready (720p / 1366x768) will not accept its own native resolution.
    - Difficult to set video card to display 1366x768p

    This will happen to a 1366x768 skin on such a screen:

    (1) Skin (768) --- downscaled to 720p* ---> upscaled in TV to 768 ===> Scaling is bad :)
    *as it can not accept 768 or display adapter does not accept it

    (2) On a 1080p, the image will not scale that good because of different aspect ration (1,77778 vs 1,778646)

    With a 720p skin, the following will happen:
    HD-ready screen w/o pixelmapping:
    (3) Skin 720p ---> Input 720p ----> upscale to 768p ==> Result is better than (1)
    (5) On a 1080p: Skin 720p ----> upscale to 1080p ==> Result is better than (2)

    Only time 768 skin is beneficial is if it is used on a 768 screen and achieving 1:1 pixelmapping - has to be supported by TV (not many models do, esp. via DVI/HDMI, check link below) and videocard driver (---> good luck with that). Might be beneficial w/scanning, but notm likely).

    PS: All HD 720p IS 720p - not 768p :)

    1080p skins most likely will get a bit heavy, if not kept clean (PR knows how to keep it clean, though... :)

    Im usually using fontsquirrel.com as a webdesigner these days.
    Its kinda hard to fint a similar font free for commercial use that supports characters like åäö for example.
    Maybe this one could work as an alternative? Font Squirrel | Free Font Tenby Five by Paragraph

    hi iMSE ! :D

    i like the font very mach ,it will go wall with this skin , ..:)

    Well.. 1366x768 isn't a official HD resolution, also, it doesn't have the same aspect ratio:
    1920/1080 = 1,7777777777777777777
    1280/720 = 1,7777777777777777777
    1366/768 = 1,77864583333333333
    It will fit better on 1080p then on 720p, because on a 720p screen, the images are reduced which cause loss in detail..

    OK, to be fair, we should be talking about 1360x768.
    Hardly any TV supports 1366 @ 1:1. And as you said its not easy to output 1366 without extra profiles etc.

    But, only a few LCDs actually have a native res of 1280x720. If 1280, they are most likely 1280x768.
    The majority of HD-Ready displays have 1366x768 panels. 1360x768 @ 1:1 Mapping via VGA/HDMI.
    Even if HDMI doesnt support 1:1 without PowerStrip/Extra Profiles or at all, VGA most likely will and anyone who gives a cr** about res would use the VGA input in that case.

    @all

    I have a question. Is Picture Number #13 on First-Page a Mockup or a original Screen-Shot? :confused:
    How do I get a live TV image behind the menu.

    Thank you
    Sensman

    EDIT: Sorry, I have overlooked! "VideoBackgroundAutoSwitcher" Plugin!
