1280x720 input looks like crap on my 1024x768 plasma. Even though the TV supports 720p, this input is really only usable for DVD/STB. 1366x768 on the other hand looks excellent.

My point is that while one resolution may scale well on one set, others may not.

I'm confused, do you run 16x9 skins in 1024x768? :p Do you not use HDMI to get the HD resolutions?

Sadly alot of 16 : 9 Plasmas are using 4:3 resolutions (native).
    Its only logical that a 16 : 9 skin looks better than a 4 : 3 skin when its (re-)stretched.

Being a Plasma (native res of 1024x768) owner myself, I prefer 720p skins, as they work very nicely through the HDMI input. Or do you have some very old non-hd Plasma? If not, time to invest in a HDMI solution from your PC.

I learned years ago (when I hade a 16:9 CRT set), that MediaPortal doesn't have Anamorphic skins, so letting your TV stretch a 16:9 that you've squeezed into a 4:3 resolution is pretty far from optimal, and many objects doesn't follow your calibration of MediaPortal.

I run 1024x768 through HDMI @ 75 Hz. I have used MP's calibration to correct the aspect-ratio for video-image to fit the full screen. So...it fits just fine :)

Omg, not the resolution discussion? Haven´t we been over this again and again and again? We should rename the "skins" forums to "resolution" forums.

I'm up for developing this, but I'll need some help tho. Haven't done it before. I'd be capable to do the design part and probably some coding.

Hey Macardi, any update on this?

Well I have found some fonts that I think can replace the ones that I use right now. So yes things moving forward bit by bit. Since the font issue was my biggest concern the rest will be quite easy. Just need to find some time. However it will not take more than a week or two until release I hope.
