I am still having trouble getting video thumbnails for all my music videos . I have selected 'Get Artwork->As Video Thumnail' in Settings. In v0.5.0.152 I get more than before, and it falls back to the artist/album artwork in some cases but not all.

What is the correct way to refresh your libary/db? I just went to the Import tab and pressed the Green check/matches button again. The log shows activity, but the Progress dialog says done as there are no new videos to scan, but I think the background artwork importer is still working? In any case I waited till the log said "[UpdateArtworkProcess]: Background artwork updater process complete. " but I still do not get artwork for all videos (artists/albums are all fine).

I can right click on each video in the Library and get video thumbnail, that works fine. Anyway log attached. I am not sure where the settings file is or I would attach that too!

Quick look at log shows that images are avaiable but they fail to meet the minimum size requirments, checked a couple and these are around 160x16o, the minimum size accepted can be adjusted on the settings screen (see attached).

That said what this process does not do is fall back to grabing a video image - will sort that for next release...most likley this evening.

As such there is no manual rescan option though each time the plugin or configuration is started the UpdateArtworkProcess will attempt to load missing artwork. If you want to do a full scan then there is an option on the importer setting menu (and on the about screen) to Delete DB and all Images. This will actually clear the DB and remove all artwork and you will need to add the import path back...this is a little drastic though - will look at adding manual control for this process.

I mean complete musik dvd`s or blu ray`s like "Pink - Funhouse Tour/Live in Australia [Blu-ray]"

This version does not yet handle DVD/Blueray importing though it is planned but realisticly this is a couple of months away.

Wonderful work Trevor. It is a really nice plugin.
Two quick things.

• How does it handle multiple artists on one song, and
• Is there a way to prevent the screen saver while watching a playlist.

• It does not occur with TV Series, MyVideos or Moving pictures so I guess there is a way to prevent it.

ALSO:
There is an exception when I click on the pencil on the import tab. (For Blank editable entry). The logs are attached.

There is no special handling for multiple artists, it will attempt to look up Artist feat. X but this would need to be in last.fm. That side of things needs some more work as does cause problems.

Not seen the screen saver issue but will look at what is involved and add it.

This exception is one I am tring to track down, it happens when it fails to fully parse a filename and olny creates 1/2 an entry. There would have been an entry you were trying to edit - can you let me have the full path for the file please. Cut & paste into an editor as it may be a unicode issue.

thanks Trevor - I noticed the image resolution in log, but it was for files in temp folder which didn't exist. So I assume mvc was trying to create them BUT did not as they did not meet the image res sizes. DUH! I lowered res and I think I got them all now THANKS! (Many of those music vids are really old now and I should download new better res versions anyways!)

In 'normal' operation I probably would not need a manual refresh since Config and Plugin load do it so no rush on that from my side. It was only that it wasn't working and I was not sure if I was doing it wrong!

I have used the mVids plugin before and I must say that this variant is much better.
However I have a problem, my videos are placed on a network share and mapped with V: and are located at the root of that drive.
What happens is that the parser strips the first characters which render the lookup useless - not many songs will autoapprove.
If I place the same songs on let's say C:\Videos it works fine.

I use a naming method that is pretty simple <Artist> - <Track> (extra info).<ext>

So.....

The Lonely Island ft. Michael Bolton - Jack Sparrow.mp4 becomes The Lonely Island - Jack Sparrow (ft Michale Bolton).mp4
and
Metallica Live in Ft. Worth - Enter Sandman.mp4 becomes Metallica - Enter Sandman (Live in Ft Worth).mp4



Now the bad news is as it currently stands mvC will not display the info in () but it does over look any info in () for parsing. Soon tho the info in () will show in the GUI so u can identify them from other regular radio titles.

for example.

Version 0.5.0.155 on the google site.

Fixes the issue reported by u28151

Also added the ability to use the raw track title against the cleaned version , controlled by new setting

Display non-cleaned version track name

With this enabled the video 50 Cent - Just A Lil Bit (uncut).mpeg will have a title displayed as Just A Lil Bit (uncut) against Just A Lil Bit.

Hi,

I have just added the ability to do this for tracks, though only for the GUI - I could do this for the artist as well. This will mean you have to name your files correctly.

I do not want to add any popups to the import process as the data can be edited afterwards, though this part still needs some more work.
