Maybe I wasn't really clear in my first post but it all does work and neither MP or the conifg manager are crashing. I was importing and sometimes some error popt up (windows dialog). I finished importing and after like 2 minutes a whole bunch of 'em popped up which I ignored being busy with something important at that moment.

I attached the log file, took a look at it that that thing's humongous :) The Cybrdisplay plugin is generating louds of junk.

So I actually am already quite happy and all's working pretty good the only thing is that the screenshots of the music video's don't show up in aeon wide...

Attached a screenie with the nothingness of what I see in mp... won't do you much good.

Really appreciate the effort! And I'd like to get this working but if my skin problem (the image not showing) is solved I'm happy. Not sure if you wanna spend too much times about my vague description of what happened...
Maybe I should just empty it and try again.,

Ahh ok. I misunderstood you the first time around. I'm wondering if the thumb problem could be a conflict with the Thumbnailer plugin. I believe it uses ffmpeg as well to grab it's thumbs, so that may be something I need to work out. You might try disabling that plugin and hitting "refresh database" again. It will automatically check for missing thumbs at the end of the scan and create them if necessary, regardless of whether the video is already in the database.

It happened again just now. And I've got Thumbnailer installed too. Kinda wanna test out what's all out there and I've got about everything installed :)

The error's telling me about a missing dll file

Ahh, I remember that error from the beginning. Drop this DLL in your MediaPortal folder (I think that's where it should go). You may need to put it in the same folder as ffmpeg, though. Some people are going to need this, some people aren't. It all depends on whether it's registered on your system or not.

Tried your suggestion but still no luck.

I see the art that's downloaded from the internet, not the screenshots even though they are sitting in the music video's directory and a perfectly fine (although some are missing could be related to the errors)

Edit;
Rebuilding my db now to see if the error pops up

Edit2;
That did the trick! Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the plugin!

Just tried it:

1. Only one video path. Too bad – I have at least 10 network shares. Would you make it like in MyVideo, so that a user might add as many shares as he wants?

2. The plugin failed to scan folders both with *.mpeg, *.avi, etc. and ripped DVDs:
1:46:42: Scan Started
1:46:47: Found 0 files total
1:46:47: Scan Completed

3. I scanned a folder with only *.mpeg, *.avi, etc.:
1:47:35: Scan Started
1:47:38: Found 464 files total
1:47:38: \\Anton-bung\Клипы\2ва Самолета\2ва Самолета - Подруга.avi added to update queue.

1:47:39: Scan Completed

But pressing “Manage Database” opens absolutely blank window.

4. Some words about thumbs. Can the plugin also look for Folder.jpg placed in the artist/album folder? It would be nice, if it would also retrieve pictures from Last.fm. It’s a wonderful social network and I can see pictures in Last.fm plugin of almost all Russian groups.

5. Could you let a user make his own rules separately for music DVDs and *.mpeg, *.avi before scanning like in TVedia? What should be treated as an artist, an album and a song (folder, subfolder, file name or a “custom” option):
Media Collection Setup for TVedia

this is kinda weird to
"Daft Punk - Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger.mov"
suggested me as a possible result "da" ?!?

The doors are not listed either but that's probably nothing you can do about

Yeah, on the todo list.

So you're saying that it would only scan if there was 1 type of file in the folder?

But pressing “Manage Database” opens absolutely blank window.
That's weird. Attach your Configuration.log and I'll see what's going on.

I can add that as an option. The pictures are retrieved from last.fm if they don't have one at allmusic. I can add an option to choose the image source as well before scanning. I'm also working on a nice dialog that will show you all of your image options in the database manager.

5. Could you let a user make his own rules separately for music DVDs and *.mpeg, *.avi before scanning like in TVedia? What should be treated as an artist, an album and a song (folder, subfolder, file name or a “custom” option):

I'm using MediaPortal's built in Allmusic site scraper so the suggestions are just what's being pulled from Allmusic. I've noticed that putting 'the' in front of names tends to get you wacky results. You might try renaming it to Doors and see what happens. The accuracy is something I'm working on.

So you're saying that it would only scan if there was 1 type of file in the folder?

I meant that, if in a share there’s at least one subfolder, which is a ripped DVD (with VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS structure), scan of the whole share is unsuccessful.

That's weird. Attach your Configuration.log and I'll see what's going on.

In the console files are successfully scanned, but in the configuration window and in the *.db3 there’s no data.

I can add that as an option. The pictures are retrieved from last.fm if they don't have one at allmusic. I can add an option to choose the image source as well before scanning. I'm also working on a nice dialog that will show you all of your image options in the database manager.

Would be nice
