It’s all OK now with scanning non-VIDEO_TS files (both Cyrillic and English names).

Now that's what I call feedback. Thanks a lot for this, I've saved a copy and will work on all of these issues. By the way, can you post your Configuration.log so that I can see what videos it skipped?

As for the information pulled from last.fm, it's only artist images. I'm working on a last.fm scraper instead of using MediaPortal's built in scraper for allmusic.

Basically, as you suggested, scanning is getting a MAJOR overhaul as it seems to be the only thing tripping people up.

If you decide not to upgrade or upgrade and then decide to downgrade, I can compile a version for you without this line.

I really like your plugin and I was missing a lot of things others didn't want to do
I'll spend much time now thinking out interesting details for it.
Great change after being a PM and working with billing systems.

If it's not too much hassle, if you could do that it would be appreciated. There may be others out there like me that are interested in this plugin and still using the last stable version rather than an RC.

I'd prefer not to upgrade if I can avoid it at the moment. Not a lot of time to install a whole new version and then get everything working nicely again at the moment...

How are things working for you? Is everything working now? I know you had a duplicate issue before, just wondering if that was an accidental double click of the refresh button.

I have bitten the bullet and did a clean install of RC2, the duplicate issue must have been a accidental double click of the refresh button

I like the look of the plugin, and the top 100 feature will come in handy.
I was wondering about album information, is it possible to use album art and data that is for .mp3 and apply it to video clips? I think it would open up a lot of resources for your plugin, there are plenty of mp3 sites that have album/artist/cover art etc information.

You may encounter other problems. I've commented out the only line that there was an error for, but there may be errors past that part.

Thanks. If I get further errors, I'll just upgrade as it probably isn't worth the hassle getting it going on an old version of MP.

Yeah, right now I'm actually working on a last.fm grabber. I'm not going to use MediaPortal's built in since I'm afraid it might interfere with the database. I need something simple, anyway, so it's not a huge deal. That should provide us with many more artist image choices, better biographies, and much greater coverage of artists. Is that what you meant?




Also, I didn't put this in the first post but meant to. You can change the artist image and video thumbs by right clicking on them in the database manager.

Im liking the look of this new plugin and I will try it out when Im back home, Im currently on Holiday in Cairns Oz. One question, does this plugin allow for random play of the music vids. I personally have around 700 or so and would love to have it randomly play them etc.

Is this possible?
