Why don't exist the option to empty database, like exist in TVSeries?
I think it easy to do and it helps some people.
That's only a idea.

It would make the interface unnecessarily complicated (and dangerous): it's a function which would be nearly never used. Those who really want to clear their database can do it by deleting the file manually.

Note that the 'clear database' function looks for inconsistencies in the database and tries to resolve them. This function shouldn't really be necessary, it was just added to resolve some problems quite a few people had in the beginning (like when MediaPortal crashed during an import).

I like this function - because in my folderstructure (on the Storage) I have one "Old", "New" and an "Ongoing" - otherwise it would be impossible to maintain series currently running and series not watched now - when one is finished I move it over - and after the rescan it is doubled in the Database - with the CleapUp it removes the old entries ... and keeps everything up to date ...

This way - meanwhile - I also have seen te benefit of doing the import and cleanup over the gui - when the setup is upo and running there is little chance you need to go to the configuration to do manaul adjustments - but what I'm missing in the gui is the option to group sereis lke you can do it in the config - I had one three or four times the issue that when looking for a series over the T9 suddenly I came across a prequel I had totally forgotten about - also as very often the names are not consistant (for example wolf and spice) - well - if there would be an option to group series realted atomatically (can the prequel - sequel option maybe used for this ...?

Hm - and - maybe an option to get an info when a new sequel is availible you don't have?

In the next version basic group management from within the plugin has been added (Rename group, merge/change group, delete group).

There is already a way to get sequel and other info: the anime relations window (series/group menu -> series info). This will show the sequels/prequels/alternative versions as shown in AniDB.
Maybe we could display this info more prominently? Any ideas for improvements are welcome!

The function (related series) I haven't seen - but ... what I mean is to do a pre-grouping automatically (maybe over an option from the info-window - group related series)

In terms of prequel - sequel - this function I know - and it's great - but (wow - again ) special during the past two years series are cut of after ep25 and 6 month later there is a second series coming - so - maybe an option is to "mark" the series you like to check after as "look for prequel" and - if a prequel is going to come you get an info - maybe like missing episodes but within the gui? So ... for example §Spice and Wolf" has come to and end now - but there is obviously a third season to come - so - you mark the series and when in anidb a sequel is anounced (like in the calendar for example) you see in your "Ceck for Sequels" list the info. The list could be located within the (right) sidbar ...

Text in the background

Sorry if this is in the wrong section. I thought about placing it in the support section, but it didn't feel like it belonged there. So i'll try to ask here.

I got Mediaportal working today after som problems with a bunch of things. Everything is working satisfactory except for one thing... Theres text in the background in the My Anime 2 plugin. I really bothers me. I have tried to reinstall the plugin, tried to delete the database, tried to delete the art, but nothing helps. I would be very grateful if anyone could give me any advice on how to get rid of it. It is the one of the last things i have to do before i can consider my HTPC complete.

Here is a photo of how it looks. I took it with my phone, but you don't need better quality to see that it looks wrong.

No, this is the right section. You have to copy the anime2_shadows.xml from the previous version in your skin folder.

It certainly is possible, nearly everything can be placed everywhere in the skin. I don't know if we'll do it though ... But if you want you can modify the skin yourself to have a custom look (look for the Anime2_Main.xml file).

There is a small problem with Monochrome 3 skin. As you can see the white text is impossible to read with the fanart background. Can somebody help me fixing this problem?

It looks like you are missing the fanart background image.

Make sure you copy over the Media files to the Media folder for your skin.
Using the installer will do this automatically, but it needs to be done manually if you downloaded the ZIP.
